Good snowy morning,

TS, enjoy getting out and gardening.  Nice you were able to sleep after the sore throat started bothering you.

It is snowing here this morning and 25 degrees out.  A typical spring day in Colorado. eh

I slept not quite 7 hours. The usual wake up and go back to sleep followed by waking up and staying awake for an hour or so.  At least I sleep.

My husband is still not able to turn his head to put the loose rocks back into place.  We should have tried this morning before he ate anything.  Before lunch, I will try again. If this fails, I will call the family doctor and make an appointment.

Hello,

NG,  hopefully the rocks with return to their intended position soon, so that the dizziness stops.

I recognise the wake/sleep thing. I had it just last night too. Not because of pain or what have you,  my leg muscles wouldn't relax. Must be a reaction to yesterday's gardening.  I haven't been doing the garden in 4 or more likely 5 years. Benzo etcetera.

It went well, but I did have to stop and go inside 4 times ( tea or coffee break) because of short sharp snow and hail showers. Spring throws at us whatever it can!

In the afternoon I mowed the lawn.  It felt good to be able to do this much gardening in one day again. There's more to follow.

I hope you had a good night.

Enjoy your Tuesday.

Greetings,

I believe I got 6.5 hrs of sleep last night.  I had to jockey for position with one of our cats for space on the bed.  One of my passions is genealogy and as a gift to myself I subscribed for a month to ancestry.com.  I'm hoping that this will keep me distracted enough from my taper.

Hello RnR,

Glad you slept reasonably well.

Great present to yourself! It's a fascinating hobby. A friend of my parents spent his lifetime finding out about his ancestors. Every free day was spent in dark and dusty files staring at endless rows of names. He left all his found treasures to the museum on the island he grew up on.

Enjoy your distraction!

Good day everyone,

It is a nice sun shiny day with temps in the upper 30s. Not garden weather, yet.

TS, you have been busy. I like the tea/coffee breaks during the hail and snow showers.  It sounds lovely.

Your leg muscles may not have been happy with the gardening. Hopefully they will get used to it.

R&R enjoy your genealogy search. It is fun to trace our roots.  I've done the ancestry thing and before that my relatives did an extensive search. It was fun to read about the family coming to America and their life as they settled here.  Enjoy learning what you can.

Sleep well with the sleepy cat.

I slept 6 hours and 45 minutes.  I am happy I sleep.

Take care everyone.

Hi there folks,

NG,  congrats on your sleep.  Almost 7 hours is quite good.

I slept some 6,5 hours last night. Lately I've been having vivid dreams again. One per night. Hadn’t had those for a while. Oh well.

Took a break from gardening yesterday to give my hamstrings a rest. Did a 20 minute walk in the morning and a 30 minute bike ride in the afternoon.

Have a nice Tuesday.

Good day,

TS, 6.5 hours is alright.  The vivid dreams are interesting.  I hope they are good ones.

The break from gardening sounds wise, so those hamstrings can feel better.

Enjoy the walks and bike rides.  I've been riding my recumbent bike for 15 minutes in the morning and 15 in the afternoon.  I'm still icing my knees from the fall, so have  not gotten back to my usual walking.

Last night I slept for 7 hours and 15 mins. A lot of waking up, but I did manage to go right back to sleep, except for an hour of not.

Sleep well.

NG

Good evening,

Got a little over 7 hours and felt fairly rested.  It's odd how I can sleep for longer and not feel rested.  Maybe it has to do with variations of deep sleep.  I know I get plenty of REM sleep as I have all sorts of vivid dreams, too.  Take care.

Hello,

Funny how we're all going through the same phase of sleep at the moment.  RnR,  I know the feeling you describe. Sometimes sleep isn't that great, but I feel rested. And vice versa.  Exactly like you describe.

NG, nice to see you slept for a very good amount of time. The waking up and going back to sleep seems to be part of our new sleep cycle.

Moving is a good thing to do. I hope your knee will be Ok again soon. Icing sounds good. How's your face, have the black and blue gone?

My sleep was a little off last night. I woke up early from a sound outside. Couldn't get back to sleep. Finally I did, but it was very light sleep. Had to get up at 7 am to put the garbage out. Birdsong galore!

Seeing my ortho shoemaker this morning for a second pair of shoes.

It's my sisters 70th birthday today.  Going for a small celebration this afternoon.

Hopefully you'll have a lovely Thursday!

Good morning all,

It is foggy here this morning, but the sun is trying to shine through.

R&R it is a mystery why we feel the way we do with more or less sleep.  I used to feel amazing after an hour afternoon nap, but the naps have gone away. I assume I am sleeping enough at night, but the restful feeling just isn't there.

TS, the black and blue is gone completely.  What remains is the small cut on my cheek bone and a little redness around that.  There is no soreness, which is good.

How nice you were met with birdsong when you took the garbage out.  Spring is in the air.

Another pair of ortho shoes sounds good.

Enjoy your time celebrating your sister's 70th birthday.

Last night I slept 5 hours and 47 minutes.  My sleep was just off for no particular reason.

Have a great day everyone!

Good day,

NG, I 'm happy to hear your face is OK again.

Sorry sleep wasn't any better than that.  Same here. Lots of waking up for no apparent reason. Felt really tired when it was time to rise and shine. Oh well,  there's always the next chance of better sleep.  Could be tonight.

Last night's dream was kind of binch dreaming. As soon as I fell asleep again,  the story continued.  Don't remember much about it, but I  do know it wasn't very pleasant.

The new shoes look nice and are a good fit. They will take getting used to like all new things.

The visit to my sister's was nice. She's had quite a bit of medical stuff going on this last year and a half. Let's hope for better times.

Rain today, so no outdoor activities for me.

Stay safe.

Hi everyone,

TS, the binch dreaming was interesting. Now and then I have dreams that pick up where they left off when I awaken and go back to sleep.

When I want an especially good dream to pick up where we left off, it doesn't usually happen.

That's good you like the new shoes.  Indeed shoes have to be broken in with time and patience.

I am sorry to hear your sister has had some medical issues the last year and a half.  Hopefully this year will be better for her.

Enjoy the rainy day inside.  I do love staying inside where it is dry and cozy.

Last night I slept 3 hours and 30 minutes. I was surprised I slept at all, so was happy I got some.

My daughter told me that my grand daughter's horse had been kicked by another horse and sustained a deep baseball size hole in his chest. An artery was cut, but it sealed off before he bled to death.  He was transported to a horse vet and so far is hanging in there.  He is such a sweet, loving half Arabian and half Welsh pony. He has all of the markings of an Arabian, but is smaller like a Welsh.  His recovery time will take a while and he'll need to be kept quiet in a stable pen for a few weeks.

Anyway, I could not sleep because of this and so here I am.

Take care and sleep well tonight.

Hello NG,

What an awful thing! People and especially young girls have a special bond with horses. It's a small miracle you still got 3 hours of sleep. Let's hope the horse pulls through.

How's your husband doing?  Is his dizziness any better yet?

I wish you a long and deep sleep tonight.

Good day to you,

Sleep was more or less OK last night.  Not quite 7 hours, but not many issues either.

I hope you slept well.

This afternoon the rain stopped. The forecast says we're in for a long dry spell from tonight. Much sunnier, but with colder nights. Typical April weather for us.

Have a peaceful weekend.

Good day all,

TS, good to hear you slept 7 hours last night.

Nice the rain has stopped.  The sunny skies will make things brighter.

My husband is doing a little better with the dizziness. Every day we do the therapy to try to put the rocks back in place.  He thinks he cannot turn his head to the right or left or let it drop back while lying with a pillow under his shoulders.  That's been a challenge for me, but the last two days he did better. His dizziness was also less. I think we are getting somewhere.

My grand daughter's horse is hanging in there.  They now think he tried to jump out of the pen they were kept in and impaled himself on a fence post.  Poor thing just wanted to go home.

Anyway, they have him stalled there and he won't be moved for a few weeks.  He needs lots of rest and daily care of his wound.

I could not go to sleep last night so took a hydroxyzine and slept 8 hours.

Good morning,

NG, sorry to hear about the horse.  I'm hoping for a speedy recovery for him.  Last time I rode a horse was some 30 years ago.  I just remember being saddle sore the next day.

Well, I got 12 hours of sleep last night.  Ha, just kidding -- April Fools.  I really got something like 7.5 hours.

Good day all,

R&R, you are right about riding a horse when you are not used to it.  It's called tender bottom syndrome.

I just made that up. :)

Many years ago we rented horses when we visited Yellowstone and I could hardly walk after the ride was over with.  It had probably been five or so years since I had last ridden my horse, which was sold the summer before I went off to college.

LOL, 12 hours was incredible until you tipped us off. haha

7.5 is good.  You are doing quite well through your taper.

TS, the not quite 7 hours was okay.  I hope you did as well or better last night.

I am glad the rain has stopped and you are in for a cool dry spell.  It's warmer here with a lot of sun and wind.  Friday the winds were howling through the leafless trees in the neighborhood.  Thankfully there were no wild fires close to homes/businesses.

I slept around 8 hours. It was nice as I had quite a lot of dreaming and deep sleep.

I read a post about hallucinations and I could relate. If I don't sleep well, I see these fast moving/changing scenes moving through my brain. I can stop them by opening my eyes, but now and then they come right back. I'm taken aback that I can have these 5 plus years from my last benzo.

Everyone have a fine Sunday.

Hello,

It's nice to see the both of you are having some good sleep.

Same here: both nights some 7 hours.

NG, interesting you are having those dreams and sometimes even hallucinations. I think our brain is still recovering from benzos and/ or other brain meds. Last night I had a lot of dreams. They all had to do with sex. Really vivid. And pleasant too,  I should add.

I remember having sex dreams a year or two ago as well. Beats horror dreams!

Did a lot of gardening  again today. I bruised a rib while pulling out a very stubborn weed. Luckely it doesn't bother me all that much, so far.  How knows what the night may bring.

We had lovely weather after a light frost last night.

Hope you all have a lovely Monday.

Hi,

Sleep wasn't very good last night.  My bruised rib and a cough kept me awake for several hours during the later part of my sleep.

Taking it easy today to give my muscles a rest.

Enjoy your day.

Good Tuesday morning,

We awoke to snow. I've not been watching the news, so this was a surprise.  The weather people predict an inch.

Yesterday I went out to take down bird houses that the yellow jackets and paper wasps have taken over.  Not sure why, because those houses have been home to bird families for years with no wasp problem.  A woman at the bird food store I go to said to take a bar of Ivory soap and rub it all over the inside.  The wasps will not move in, but birds do not mind the soap. I'm going to give it a try and hopefully it works.

The double sided Costco ladder I bought a few years ago worked very well. It is incredibly sturdy, which is important for someone afraid of heights.

TS, good to hear you are sleeping 7 hours or so. The sex dreams sound memorable.

Hope your bruised rib recovers and your restful sleep returns.

I slept a little over 7 hours.  My sleep was restless.

Today I will take a break from outside work and find something to do inside.

Take care,

NG

Hello,

NG,  let's hope the soap trick is going to do the business.

Wow,, snow. Not what we're waiting for this time of year. May it be gone soon.

Today I felt like I was hit by a runaway train. There isn't a muscle that doesn't hurt. But looking at a cleaner garden makes it so much more bearable.

Seeing the uni eye-doctor tomorrow for a check-up.

Have a nice day and sleep well tonight.

Hello,

Sleep was OK until around 5 am. After that  it was a matter of tossing and turning. Awake and back to sleep a zillion times.

A warm shower and oatmeal porridge made the tiredness go away.

Have a nice Wednesday.

Good evening,

TS, that's good the shower and oatmeal helped the tiredness go away.

Sleep well tonight.

Your muscle pain sounded stressful.  The lovely garden helped to make it all worth it.

How did your eye appointment go? I hope you got a good report.

I slept a little over 5 hours.  On the plus side the snow melted quickly.

My spirits are low.  Hopefully this goes away soon.

Hello NG,

Five hours isn't great, but always better than no sleep at all. Nice to hear the snow is gone again. It's time for sunnier and warmer weather.

My appointment went well. Both eyes are OK. I don't need to go back to the university hospital for future check-ups. These can be done in my local hospital from now on. The specialist advised me to start planning for the second cataract surgery. I think I 'll have it done in late autumn. I'd love to have a "normal " summer first. With gardening,  fishing and biking.

My muscle pain is much better after 2 days of rest. So is the bruised rib.

Sleep was good last night. Some 7 hours at first, followed by an hour of pleasant snoozing.

I hope my post was able to lift your spirits a bit. It's crazy how our mood can sometimes swing, right?

Have a lovely Thursday.

Good day,

TS, so good to hear your eye appointment went well. That's great news that you don't have to go back to University Hospital for future check ups. Big miles

A good idea to plan for the cataract surgery.  Late autumn sounds like a good time after the fall colors are passed their splendor and you have enjoyed all of the summer fun things you love to do.

I am glad your muscles are better along with your bruised rib.

7 hours is a good amount of sleep. The hour of snoozing sounds pretty good, too.

My sleep was 6 hours and 32 minutes.  Deep sleep was 17 minutes, but REM was 54. Hopefully the deep sleep will return.

It is crazy how our moods swing.  My mood has been fairly good for some time, but here I am.  I'll hang on until it lifts.
