If your working with powder, this spoon set is helpful. it is designed to fill and pack capsules that  you make on your own:

You can also use the spoon in the set  to slowly add or decrease your powder as you weigh it.

How to use weighing papers:

The difference is, we would place the weighed powder in a capsule, not a beaker.

I also recommend papers you put right on the scale and place your powder on instead of the cup which comes with the scale:

capsules They come in several sizes, this is just the 1, but you can purchase much smaller capsules, or larger.

Julia:  I am so happy you caught that.  My measurements are based upon a 1 mg Greenstone Brand alprazolam.  So the weight for a 1 mg Greenstone Brand Alprazolam broken in half is 0.064 grams and then broken again is 0.032 grams and 3/4 of my 1 mg weighs 0.096.  Yes, each pill can weigh a little different even in my same prescription so I weigh 10 together and take the tiny difference as my marker.  Since we do not have ten thousand dollar scales, each time you weigh they will be off a little.  With me, that tiny difference does not bother me as it is so very small.

And yes, you are correct, I lost my husband, brothers and parents while living in this house and I love my home but there is much sadness with all the memories all around me.  I am sure as I grieve, happy memories will replace the sad memories.  Thank you so much for addressing this.  You are a wonderful soul.

Widesky:  Please measure each of your pills and if you have a .25 mg alprazolam it will weigh different that what I posted to you earlier.  I am so sorry as I was basing my measurements on a 1 mg alprazolam cut 4 times.  So glad Julia caught that..  I feel awful.....

Everyone have a beautiful wonderful evening!

You helped me. Please don't feel awful!  I appreciate your help and you did nothing wrong at all.  Take care of yourself, be as kind as you can to yourself.  You are my buddy in healing! We're in this together. Thank you for reaching out to me.

I’m sorry to hear that Julia, I hope things will get better soon! Do you guys experience problem with your visual stimulation? For me when there are too many things moving, like cars or when I’m watching a movie some fast scene make me dizzy. How long did it take for you guys to improve?

Hi EnzoIt,

Thank you!  I do have issues with visual stimulation sometimes.  When I watch TV and there is too much movement I have to turn away or change the channel.  I get that dizzy feeling too like you do.  I have to close my eyes or move away from whatever it is.  I has gotten better and it is not as frequent as it once was.

I hope yours gets better soon!

Hugs,

Julia

Thanks Julia, it got better for me but with the last 2 cuts the dizziness and overload visual stimulation are back, I hope they’ll lift soon after I’ll jump

Hi EnzoIt,

How are you doing?  Did you jump yet?  If you did, I hope you are doing great!  Keep us posted.

Thinking of you!

Hugs,

:smitten: :smitten:

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to stop by and see how everyone is doing?  I have missed so much, I want you all to know I am thinking of you and cheering each one of you on!

Lots and lots of symptoms here on a daily basis.  I am still suffering some, but for the most part I am doing much better.

Remember...today you are one day closer to freedom!

Keep moving forward!!

You too Debbie,

Please keep me posted on your scan.  Hang in there, I think most of it is just the stinking withdrawal.  Over the past week or so things just basically shut down and my gastro issues are much, much better.  I feel normal.

There have been other things to take it's place, but I am pushing through.

Healing is happening every day for each of us.

Hugs..

I am hanging in there.  Still dealing with my stomach and last night had nightmares but I will survive!!  Huge dose of dizziness and off balance today!  Hoping it is not coming back full force again!

Take care!

Hi guys!

Has anybody jumped recently? I haven't posted in a while. I am down to .8mg/day and hoping to be done in 4 to 5 weeks. I have even forgotten my dose once or twice and managed OK. My primary care Dr. gave me a Rx for Vistaril (hydroxyzine) for anxiety and I have been taking that on occasion. As one person said to me; "You are probably always going to be anxious. It's just part of who you are."

That very well may be true. I have a history full of abuse, terrorizing and bullying and it has gotten the better of my nervous system. I can only do my best. I am extremely grateful that I have managed to get down as low as I am, from 4mg, without more problems. Even though I am anxious and still deal with insomnia, I know it could be worse. I had bowel and bladder problems that seem to be resolving. I also had a problem (sorry if it's TMI) having an orgasm and I was worried it was permanent but that problem is better too, thank God.

Wishing you all well! I know many are close to jumping.

Good evening all!  I am still hanging in there and actually w/d wise, I am doing pretty good.  I am going to take the leap and taper another .50 away in the next few days.  I held at 5.0 for 3 weeks so time to taper to 4.5.  Nice that I was able to taper 1.5 in just over a month.  Still have a positive attitude and God is seeing me through.  I have been sleeping and finally eating much better so all is a plus.  I still have a sinus infection but went to a ENT specialist yesterday so hopefully, in the near future that will be behind me.  Feels good to laugh a little and pray all of you are having some great times between the pain.  Everyone have a wonderful blessed evening!!!

So happy to hear this!  I've been thinking of you and wondering how you were doing.  I'm glad to hear that the gastro issues are getting better!  I'm also curious to hear if the thyroid issues get better as you heal from the taper.  Sending positive vibes and well wishes!

Again, so happy for you that the taper is in the rearview mirror!!

Fondly,

Lori

hey guys,

I need some help --- I had to updose to 1mg of Xanax from .64 in early august --- due to removing 16 supplements in my mild symptom taper only to crash right into acute.  I haven't stablized much, if at all.  I can't take valium due to genetics and folks are telling me its virtually impossible to come directly off Xanax once you are in bad shape?  is that true?

I dose five times a day and I just feel like crap all day long -- so there isn't any real interdose going on --- it feels like straight just terrible withdrawal ----

I have high agitation bordering on akathisia (no pacing but grunting, hard to breathe, feel plugged into a nuclear power plant) and lots of mental symptoms.  I'm going to hold another month as I am moving in three weeks -- but then I wss thinking of continuing on a slow taper

I could look into transitioning to librium -- but I am not sure if this is a Xanax issue per se, or just a withdrawal issue and I know any benzo has its own set of issues

any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  anyone hit a super rough patch in their Xanax taper and just remained on the Xanax and eventually kept tapering?

thanks

Hey Torris,

Glad you posted.  Sounds like you are doing great!!  I am happy for you!  Glad that you are able to sleep and are eating better.    Your plan sounds doable and you are listening to your body and that is so important!  I am so glad to read that you are able to laugh some and that makes me smile!  You deserve that!

I hope things continue to go well for you and I believe with your positive attitude and being careful with how much you taper will help you a lot.

Take care.

Julia

300,

I had the same thing happen when I updosed to 1 milligram from right about where you were.  To be honest, I was in really bad shape and it took a good 2 months or better for things to start leveling out for me.  Keep in mind that symptoms never actually went away, they just lessened a bunch and allowed me to be far more functional.

And as you see in my signature, I was totally able to continue tapering after my long hold.  You probably won't need to hold nearly as long as I did. To be honest, I could have easily resumed my taper within 4-5 months but chose to ride the "functional wave" much longer.  I had been taper for 2 years at that point and needed a break.

My suggestion would be to give it a little more time.  I can't speak about other medications as I've never taken any.

Hang in there.  Hopefully it will get better in the next week or so.

Fondly,

Lori

thanks Lori --- I'm sorry you hit the same wall - but glad I am not alone.  its been 10 weeks -- some things are improved, somethings are still really bad -- I am a few days before my period and wonder if my PMS has got me more agitated/coming out of my skin as well.  thanks so much!

No problem at all!  My situation was almost identical and I came out of it!

Hands down the week prior to my period and the first 2 day of it always made things much worse!  Now? menopause is kicking in! This just started about 3-4 months ago and it's been a royal pain!  Here I am at the end of the taper, and now I'm having hot flashes and night sweats like crazy!  Oh joy!  I'm not going the hormonal replacement road though.. I certainly don't need another synthetic drug and its side effect to contend with. I'm stuck literally "sweating this one out!"  :)

Again, hang in there! Praying it levels out for you as well!

Guys I jumped! Today I feel like every time I make a cut: fatigued and dizzy, I hope those things now will start to improve fast. For me my dose never gave me any relief and i know benzos suppress our vestibular system, so I hope that now without having to take it my dizziness will go away soon. I think I’ll take a few days off but I’m thinking about all of you and I send you all hugs.
