Good morning all,

On Thursday we are driving to Iowa for a visit my Mother as well as other relatives.  My sister and husband are going to be there from North Carolina, also.

It is a fall visit to do things that need to be done before winter arrives.

My husband has a cough, but tests negative for covid, so hopefully doesn't expose my mother to anything.

I've been sleeping mostly 7 hours with the usual wake ups and not going back to sleep for awhile.

My knee is improving since I am using the roll on my side. It looks like a rolled up exercise mat that does not unroll for those not familiar.  I am both surprised and happy this is working for the IT band problem!

Yesterday was my birthday and we enjoyed lunch with our neighbors, who moved across the street when we were all in our 20s. It was a fine day.

TS, good to hear you have been sleeping well. Hopefully your eyes and feet are feeling better.

R&R, hopefully you come back up sleep wise to the 700 Club.

AB, you sound like you are doing pretty well, also.  Keep it up!

If I don't get back on before we leave, I'll be back on here by next Monday.

Hello dear NG,

A belated Happy Birthday to you! May you have a good new year!

So great you had an enjoyable lunch with your neighbours. Good neighbours are worth their weight in gold.

I am so happy your knee is improving.  You really deserve to be pain free.

Hopefully your husband's cough will be over soon.

I wish you a safe journey and a wonderful get together.

I'm seeing my retina specialist tomorrow. I hope she'll set a date for the surgery to remove the oil from my eye. I am tired of all this misery. My feet and back are still hurting me a lot. Life is great...right? Oh well, things could be worse, I  guess. I'm grateful I  can still enjoy  my bike rides.

Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday and have a fantastic trip!

Hi everyone,

I have been MIA I know, but I am doing fairly ok.

Happy belated birthday also NG. Everyone seems to be sleeping good. I have not been tracking, but I have been getting between 5-7 hours lately.

TS, I hope your next eye surgery goes ok. I know you are so sick of the eye stuff.

Hi RnR, your sleep numbers are still looking really good.

Hello folks,

RnR, some great nights you are having! Congrats!

AB,  Glad your sleep is OK too! Keep it up.

Thank you! Yes, I am fed up, but it needs time to heal and be okay again, so I need to stay patient.  I had some good news on Wednesday.  The eye looks fine, the retina is firmly in its place, so the "oil out" - surgery is set for November 16th.

My other eye is inflammation-free, so I was allowed to stop taking eye drops for that! I'm on the home stretch,  but not yet there...

Patience is key.

My sleep was good the last nights, some 7 hours of restful sleep.

This last night I woke up at 5 and couldn't get  back to sleep.  Oh well., there's always the next one.

Enjoy your Friday if you can.

Hi TS, I hope your Nov. 16 eye surgery goes well my friend. Happy to hear you are getting in some good nights of sleep.

FitBit says 5 hours of fair quality sleep for me Monday night. I am hoping tonight will be better.  :)

Thank you AB! 👍

The number of hours you slept isn't too bad, but we could all use the extra 2 or 3, right? I hope this last night was better again.

I didn't have a very good night. Woke up at least 3 times for no obvious reason. Luckely I fell asleep again fairly soon every time.

I decided to do less walking for a while because of the neuropathic pain in my feet. I go for an extra spin on my bike instead. I'm still waiting for a phone call from the orthopedic shoemaker to pick up and try on my new shoes.

I hope you're going to have a pleasant Tuesday!

Hi all, it is good to be home, again. The trip went well and my mother was fine and happy to have her family there.  The time went by too quickly.

Before we left, my husband went to the ER, at 3am, with a cough that would not stop.  While there, they discovered he was having Afib along with RVR.

We were supposed to be heading to Iowa, but took a detour. Anyway, the diagnosis for the cough was Rhino infection aka the common cold.  His lungs were being overly sensitive, but with some medications, we were released to go home that afternoon and with the doctor's blessing, we headed for my mom's the next morning.  We have a follow up with the primary next week to decide on the best treatment for the Afib.

R&R you did mighty fine with your sleep! That morning doze was nice also.

TS, I am so happy to hear the wonderful news about your eyes.  It will be nice to have the oil removed and get back to normal again.

Your sleep is doing good, also! Keep doing what you are doing.

The bike ride sounds nice. Your feet should be happy over that.

I slept 8 hours and 12 mins last night, which was nice.

8 hours of sleep, Damn NG!  Sorry to hear about your hubby's current health issues. Hopefully, he gets them resolved and recovers from his viral infection. Also, good to hear your trip went well.

Hi RnR and TS. I only walk once per week on a treadmill, TS. The rest of my cardio is done using stationary bikes. I also lift weights, but nothing really heavy because I do suffer with mild chronic low back pain.

I hope everyone keeps having a pretty good week.

Good morning all,

RnR, great that your sleep is so good!

NG,  I'm happy to see you made it back safe and sound. Let's hope your husband gets well again soon! So nice to hear your mom is stiil doing OK.  It's wonderful you all had a nice time. Your sleep sounds super!

My sleep is getting worse by the night atm. No idea why this is. My feet felt frozen last night and I had " needles and pins " in my lower legs. I slept perhaps 4 hours. What can you do but hope for better times, right?

AB,  I never was much of a walker, so reducing the number of times I walk was probably a wise decision. Last week my stationary bike died. The motor that changes the gears got stuck in the heaviest gear. I'm ditching this one and shall be buying a new specimen.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Hi buddies,

RnR, Sorry you had an anxiety attack. Glad you still got some 6 hours of shut-eye!

My sleep last night was better than the one before that. Some 6 hours. I feel rested.

Hope you all had a good sleep!

Take care.

Good day all,

TS. I hope our sleep continues to improve. Six hours isn't bad, but more is better.

R&R sorry to hear about your anxiety attack. I have had a couple before we went to see my mom. Taking a deep breath does seem to help make them resolve more quickly.

I slept  7 hours and 19 mins last night and 7 hours and 15 mins the night before.

Hello,

NG,  two good nights in a row is wonderful!  Keep it up.

My sleep was good last night, but I did wake up more than I care for. Luckely I managed to fall asleep again every time.

I caught a cold. Hard not to, because "everyone " has a cold overhere atm. Today my eyes were all watery. Hope it gets better soon, for this Sunday I have to get my Covid-19 shot.

Wishing you all a pleasant Friday.

Hi,

RnR,  thank you.  The cold is still bothering me. It moved from my eyes back to my nose and then to my throat last night. Ugg. Awful.

I had to clear my throat a zillion times.  I often felt like I was choking. But to my surprise I did sleep for a couple of hours.

Congrats on another great sleep! Makes us feel so good.

Have a blessed Sunday everyone!

TS.

Good morning,

The cold season is definitely here.  I hope you start feeling better soon, TS.

My husband and I both have colds.  We've been taking Nyquil and Dayquil which helps.  That's good you were able to sleep some.

Perhaps you will need to hold off on your covid shot. I've not made appointments to get ours yet.

R&R 7.5 hours of sleep sounds good.

Take care everyone,

NG

Hi nightengale,

That was a great night you had. How wonderful! I wish you and your husband a speedy recovery!

I moved my appointment to get the Covid shot to this coming Thursday. Hopefully I feel better by then.

Last night was a repetition of the previous one. The first 3 hours or so were bad with lots of throat issues again. Around 2 am I finally fell asleep. I woke up tired with a sore throat. My voice has dropped a few octaves.

After a nice warm shower and a bowl of porridge I feel much better atm.

I hope you all slept well.

Try to enjoy your Monday.

Good afternoon all,

TS, you are having a rough time with this cold and sore throat.  I hope you soon are feeling better and sleeping well.

A good idea to delay the covid booster until Thursday or later if necessary. I've not had mine, either, yet.

The warm shower and porridge sounds so very nice.

I slept 7 hours and 27 minutes.  I feel quite tired, so not sure if the Fitbit is doing an accurate job between measuring light sleep and being awake.

My son and daughter in law took me and my husband to where my DIL used to live to see a hand specialist about my Dupuytren's Contracture.

The doctor recommended needling or surgery.  I will probably try the needling and hope it lasts. It can be  re-done after three years if the condition returns or I can opt to have the surgery which has a six week recovery time but will last.

I wish everyone good sleep and TS to feel better.

NG

Hello nightengale,

Thank you for your kind and wise words!

Last night wasn't so bad.  My throat is getting better, so I slept for longer. The cold is still on the move. It's now down to my lungs. I started coughing last evening, but it didn't bother me during the night. I self-tested for Covid-19.  Negative, so it's a cold.

I'll wait and see what today and tomorrow will bring. Might be I'll delay the booster shot again.

I'm drinking tea with lemon, ginger and honey. Delicious (and it seems to do the job!)

I'm glad you slept for so long. Though feeling tired after sleep sucks.

I hope the treatment for your DC is going to be a success! As you may recall, I have it too, so I 'm curious wether the needling is going to work. I'm going to look it up.

I hope your sleep was a refreshing one this time!

Take care!

Good morning TS,

That's good news your cold is getting better.  I'm so very happy the cough didn't bother you during the night.  The Covid tests are nice to have just to know.

The lemon, ginger, and honey sounds nice, plus it works to quell the cough!

My hope is also that the needling works and the contracture does not return.  Yes, I do remember you have it also.  I'll let you know how the needling works for me.

Last night on the news, the weather person said that it was to get down to freezing. I was skeptical, as according to some reports that temp drop was not to happen until Thursday night.  I had gone out and picked everything out of the garden after dinner, but didn't think about disconnecting the garden hose. It came to me right after I climbed into bed, so I got up, bundled myself up, and went out to undo everything. This morning when I got up it was ten degrees above freezing. lol

At least that is done for the winter.

Feel better soon!

NG

Hi nightengale,

How brave of you to get up again right after " turning in". I'm so proud of you!  Not sure what I would have done, but probably the same. The 10 degrees above freezing was funny indeed.

We're having exceptionally warm weather atm. Really nice and it saves us money not having to heat the house.  We had a partial eclipse this afternoon.  Nothing to get exited about. Shakespeare would have said: " Much ado about nothing".

I went for a nice bike ride this afternoon because walking is getting harder and harder to do. I think I 'm going to make another appointment with the neurologist.

I read about needling and DC. It seems it works really well! So, it's looking promising!

Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday!

TS

Hello buddies,

I slept some 2 or 3 hours last night. The cold gave me lots of issues.  Ugh!

Hopefully tonight is going to be better.

Enjoy your Wednesday everybody!
