Hi,

NG,  Congrats on a fantastic sleep! You so deserve it!

I slept some 7 hours last night. Woke up at  5.15 am. Went back to sleep,  albeit a light and broken one. Haven't  been able to do that for a while.

Another warm day. It's been really warm,  extremely sunny and ditto dry for months now. Next week a change to more normal weather is in the cards.

The visit to the neurologist went fine. The nicest person you can imagine!  All the tests were ok. She's sending me to see a feet specialist.  Maybe new orthopedic inlays and/or special shoes can help ease the pain. To be continued...

Enjoy your weekend!

Same thing with me, my neurologist is sending me to a podiatrist this month. I've never been to one for inlays, I'm going to get some good ones for my hiking boots, because my Brooks running shoes are already pretty comfortable. I got the Brooks Glycerin 20 for walking around the city, they have lots of shock absorption and they're really comfortable and fit my feet perfect. The Columbia hiking boots have a lot of shock absorption, but my foot seems to go to the side a little bit, so I need to get that corrected. My feet have felt bloated and swollen and pins and needles with the benzo withdrawal and neuropathy.

Good day all,

TS, that is good news about the foot specialist. It's great you liked her so much! I find that insoles are nice to have.  I like one called The Runner's Roost that video tapes me walking and jogging. It's been a few years since I bought my last pair of shoes and insoles, so I don't remember what else, but it was thorough.

My feet don't bother me, so they must do something right. Mine are Brooks, also, and I love them.

Justintime, sorry about your feet feeling the way they do.  Benzo withdrawal can be brutal.

AB, six hours is good. Nice you got some rain and enjoyed a good book read.  I'm reading An Officer and a Spy by Robert Harris. I started it a year or so ago and couldn't get into it, so will give it another try.  So far I've not put it aside.

Last night my sleep did well until 3:00 am them I woke up and that was it.  I clocked in at 5 hours. meh

Have a good Sunday everyone.

GM all,

I don't do much running or walking anymore. I mostly bike, so minimal road shock from my feet striking the walking or running surface. I do walk one day per week on a treadmill at my local fitness center.

5 hours are not too bad NG. I know you would have preferred more.

I clocked in at 6 hours of fair quality according to the FitBit.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone. :)

Yes, Brooks Shoes actually help me sleep. All the other brands of shoes suck, and you can't really walk or run very far without your feet starting to hurt real bad. And then late at night when you're trying to get rest, your feet will be tingling and sore and you can't really wear your body out, because of the shoes alone.

But whenever I'm wearing my Brooks shoes all day and walking miles and miles and getting myself worn out, I can come home and eat good food and relax for a while, without any pain or swelling. And then I can just go to sleep and wake up 8 hours later.

How many miles per day do you walk? Do you do this daily? I take it the exhaustion from the exercise is conducive to getting good sleep at night.

Hi everyone,

Sleep wasn't very good last night. I woke up a couple of times, but did fall asleep again. Then woke up around 5.30 am and that was it.

Didn't feel rested at all. Ugh.

Turns out we all have feet issues!  Must be Benzo related. Although,  I' ve had bad feet all my life. Inlays since when I was 8 ir 9.

The "walking on moss and "walking on sharp concrete" started during benzo. So that's as clear as daylight a benzo withdrawal thing!

I got special inlays last year. They really worked well. But now it's back to the drawing board. Have an appointment in 3 weeks time.

Same as AB I don't do much walking. So happy I 'm allowed to ride my bike again.  Like Justintime I need to exercise.

Anyway, hope we all have a worry-free Monday!

Take care!  Trochsetter

Good morning everyone,

Today is a holiday but we have no plans.

I did sleep a little over six hours last night. If I could get my brain to stay out of "think mode" I would sleep better.

TS, I also don't walk like I used to. My knees are still tight and sore so I'm not recovered from the IT band syndrome. I need to deal with trying to get more in home PT, as the woman at the doctor's office said I don't qualify. Strange, as I've been getting it for the last three years.  She doesn't know what she is talking about. Meh

In all honesty, I don't like to deal with confrontations, so I just keep doing the exercises I downloaded from the internet.  Right or wrong.

Maybe tomorrow I'll feel like taking this on.

Anyway, it sounds like you need new insoles and shoes beings it worked out well before.  I've not had bad feet, but I also didn't want to get them, so I searched out some really good shoes.

Take care,

NG

@JustInTime....

How many miles per day do you walk? Do you do this daily? I take it the exhaustion from the exercise is conducive to getting good sleep at night.

At least a few, I always try to walk as much as I can. Some days I'm not feeling up to it because of the withdrawal symptoms, but I still push myself as much as I can. Sometimes my feet are all swollen and feel like pins and needles because of the symptoms, so I have to refrain from going too far. But in general, I get at least a couple miles in every day and sometimes near 10 miles.

One of the things I do to make myself sleep better is I walk to the farmers market with a cooler backpack I bought off of amazon, it holds quite a bit of food and you can put some freezer packs in it, it advertises that it will keep your food cold for 16 hours, although I haven't tested it for that long yet. Anyhow, I usually pack my backpack with tomatoes and lettuce and fruits and vegetables and meat from the farmers market, along with my freezer packs, and then I walk about a mile home with a bunch of heavy stuff on my back. It's good exercise, and it makes me work for my food.

So not only do I work for my food, I eat really healthy when I get home by cooking it. And then after I eat, I go for another long walk down to the beach. Sometimes I will go explore some islands or take boat rides and cook lots of food, do all sorts of things in the same day, and by the time I get home I'm exhausted and I sleep well.

On the days when I'm not exhausting myself because of symptoms, I don't sleep well. And whenever I get into a pattern of not sleeping well, my symptoms get worse. This is why I forced myself to get as much exercise as possible, otherwise it's guaranteed I'm going to have a bad time.

Hi there,

I didn't get much sleep last night. Less than 4 hours. I woke up just after 3. It rained! Hadn’t had that for a while...

There was some thunder as well.

Couldn't get back to sleep because my legs started to bother me. Ugh! Finally got up around 7 am and went for a short walk.

Have a pleasant Wednesday!

Hi Buddies,

Sorry about the poor sleep numbers NG and TS. Hopefully, last night was better for both of you.

I only got a little over 4 hours last night, but I feel fairly ok this morning.

Enjoy your Wed. everyone.

Hi all,

Hopefully tonight is better for so many of us.

AB, the four hours could be better but it is good that you felt fairly okay.  I wish you good sleep tonight.

TS, the rain sounds good. We need some here, as it has been so incredibly hot this week. Sorry to hear your legs were bothering you.  The walk sounded pleasant.

R&R 8 hours was wonderful! Keep it up!

I had 8 hours also along with an hour nap today. I'm happy.

Good for you NG <clapping>  :)

RnR, 8 hours....wow!

I did not sleep well last night. I am not quite sure how much sleep I got. I was not wearing the FitBit. The little sleep I did get was restless, and I had several weird, disturbing dreams. I usually do not recall my dreams during REM sleep so IDK.

Hopefully, tonight is better for me.  :)

Hi there ,

Congratulations NG and RandR on a great sleep!  Wow!

The walk and just being more active did help my legs feel better. Feet still sore of course...

My sleep was good last night.  Some 7 hours with one bathroom break. Woke up around 6.30 am feeling a little nausea set in again.. Not sure what causes it. Anyway,  got up to have a drink of water, which did the trick.

We had a rain-day yesterday. Bored with it after only a couple of hour, but the rain was welcome and much needed,  as the gardens et cetera are all fried. Much cooler today. The sun is out !  Warmer weather 's on the way again.

Hope you're all going to have a fine Friday!

I also had some really vivid dreams yesterday, nightmares actually. But on the bright side I got really good sleep, some of the most refreshing sleep I've gotten yet. It's kind of strange, because normally when you have nightmares, the sleep suffers. But this time I had nightmares and woke up completely refreshed and ready to tackle the day.

I actually started drinking apple cider vinegar before I went to sleep last night, and I did it again tonight. They say apple cider vinegar can help you sleep a lot longer and keep your stomach from emptying as quickly, so that it empties at a slower rate and you stay full.

I took about a one or two second pour into my glass of water, like a shot or two of raw apple cider vinegar with the mother. And then when I was done drinking that kind of gross stuff, I put some raw honey in my mouth and then swallowed it. That way I was getting raw organic honey and apple cider vinegar at the same time along with some water to stay hydrated. Hopefully I can start getting better sleep from now on with this combination before bed.

For sure, I will let you know if I sleep well tonight or not. I just took the apple cider vinegar shot about 15 minutes ago with my water and chaser of raw honey to go with it. It doesn't taste all that great, but it's better than alcohol. It kind of reminds me of doing a shot, except for it's more pleasant than whiskey or vodka.

That reminds me, alcohol was just that bad. I would rather be going through a little bit of benzo withdrawal and getting rejuvenating sleep after drinking apple cider vinegar shots, as opposed to drinking toxic alcohol every night and waking up with excruciating migraines and hangovers everyday like the past.
