[Ma...]
I got my first dose of the Moderna Covid 19 vaccine today. I signed up at Walgreens and the process went very smoothly, I didn't have to wait outside an hour like my husband did when he went to the county health department. I feel fine, I'm tired, but I also trudged up and down hills yesterday taking my granddaughter sledding! It was great fun but I feel my 70 years today. That's great news PG, thank you for posting. The picture of you with your granddaughter sledding is a nice one

[Fi...]
I received my 1st dose of the Pfizer vaccine today & scheduled the 2nd dose. My county does the vaccinations as a drive-thru process in a large expo-center. I had the paperwork filled out before I arrived, the personnel was prepared to answer any questions and they requested that we wait in our vehicles in the parking lot for 1/2 hour after vaccination just in case someone experienced a post-vaccine adverse event. It was very well organized and staffed by professional EMT's & National Guard personnel. I'm feeling fine a few hours post vaccination.
[pi...]
In the interest of transparency, I remarked I had my first dose of the Moderna vaccine yesterday. Today my arm is sore, it's not terrible. I would rank it between the flu shot (very little arm pain) and the tetanus shot ( really sore). I'm happy to feel this because it means the vaccine is doing it's job.
[br...]
I got my first pfizer dose on Thursday and I got very emotional :'( I was with my husband at the wonderfully organised Portland O.R. convention center . We popped him into a wheelchair because the walking distances and stair climbing would have been too much . This meant that we were wisked through a record speed . I was achy for about a day and my arm hurt a little but that was it . He had no side effects at all . I would urge everyone to get the vaccine . The alternative is horrible . [Fi...]
Two days after the 1st dose of the Pfizer vaccine: Today I had a sudden, profuse and unexplained nosebleed (epistaxis) from one nostril which lasted for about an hour. I used a cold compress & nasal packing until the bleeding stopped. I have never had an unexplained nose bleed before but, there is no evidence that it was caused by the vaccination. That symptom has subsided and no other adverse symptoms have presented to date. I will remain vigilant in watching for other symptoms for the next three weeks when I'm scheduled for the 2nd dose. Hi Fi! Nice to see you again.. it's been awhile. Hope you're doing well. Like you, I had to go back up to 1 mg. but recently started to try to taper again. Glad you were able to get the vaccine and are having minimal side effects. I get my first dose of the Moderna vaccine on Wednesday. Fingers crossed! Again, nice to see you on here! [Pa...]
So nobody had a bad reaction, really, right? And some of you are in bad withdrawal... or are you over a lot of it? thx I’m still in the prime of withdrawals! My only reactions to the vaccines were a sore arm, a minor uptick in an already existing headache and fatigue for 48 hours. Oh and my blood sugars were a bit high for a couple hours after. Other than that had NO affect on anxiety, panic, heart, breathing, oxygen. I monitored all of these afterward.
[Ba...]
Thank you for that. How did you know your blood sugar went up? Something you felt or did a dr. tell you? So no increase in vibrating, dizzyness, insomnia, anxiety, depression, cognition, vision stuff... none of those ?
[Pa...]
Thank you for that. How did you know your blood sugar went up? Something you felt or did a dr. tell you? So no increase in vibrating, dizzyness, insomnia, anxiety, depression, cognition, vision stuff... none of those ? Nope none of those. I actually slept better and ALOT more those 48 hours after the vaccine. I was never a diabetic but once I started this withdrawal my blood sugars went way up. So my doctor prescribed me a continuous glucose monitor. I use the freestyle libre. So I’m able to check it all day long. With it I’ve noticed when I’m in a wave and my anxiety is high for hours and days is when my blood sugar is ridiculously high! And that’s what is causing my A1C to go up. When I’m in a window my blood sugars go low and I have to eat every two hours. Withdrawal is a beast!

That symptom has subsided and no other adverse symptoms have presented to date. I will remain vigilant in watching for other symptoms for the next three weeks when I'm scheduled for the 2nd dose. Four days after the 1st dose of the Pfizer vaccine: Last night I had another sudden, profuse and unexplained nosebleed (epistaxis) from the same one nostril. I quickly utilized nasal packing & it subsided in about 1/2 hour. I also noticed an area on my foot that had blood spots under the skin (petechiae). These conditions were confirmed by an urgent care doctor today and a complete blood workup was ordered. I will receive the results of the blood work up in 2 or 3 days. My temperature was taken at the urgent care clinic. It was 100.6 degrees Fahrenheit. I normally have a temperature in the low 98 degrees Fahrenheit. Other than these symptoms, I'm feeling fine. I will continue to monitor my symptoms and wait for the results of the blood tests. Edit: For those who are aware & concerned, I am aware that similar symptoms have been reported to the CDC, FDA, the media and have also been been observed by the manufacturers and are included in the data submitted to the FDA before receiving Emergency Use Authorizations (EUA) for the vaccines. Blood platelet counts will be part of the results from the blood tests which were conducted today.
[Lo...]
Update: It's been a full 9 hours since I recieved my 1st dose of the Moderna Covid vaccine. 1) Zero pain getting injected! It was a breeze. Getting blood drawn is more painful than this! I honestly never felt the needle! 2) No allergic reaction - they keep you there for 15 minutes "just in case" with epipen ready. However, doctor told me that he's done 100's so far and not one severe allergic reaction to date. That's encouraging! 3) A mildly sore arm kicked in about 3 hours ago. Honestly, I've had more pain from banging my shin on a door versus the pain in my arm right now. I haven't even had to take Advil or Tylenol. All good! Hope this is helpful and alleviates anxiety for anyone who is in full blown withdrawl/taper mode like me! Best, Lori

PG I'm not monitoring my temperature on a regular basis, I expected a mild temperature after being vaccinated. Images of petechiae and information about it can be found on the internet. To date, my case is mild. When asked today if I should continue with my scheduled 2nd dose of the Pfizer vaccine , the attending physician said "Yes". He also scheduled an appointment with an ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) specialist to address the nose bleeding symptom. We are awaiting results of the blood tests before addressing the issue of petechiae.
[Be...]
Nose bleeds could be an autoantibody in your blood. Have the doc run an ANA screening test to check for autoantibodies. I'm prone to bleeding because I have a procoagulant autoantibody in my blood and a clotting disorder. Nose bleeds are not normal if you didn't hit your nose. There are too many to list here & I will need some time to study them & talk with my attending physician to fully understand them but, a couple of personal friends of mine who are doctors just reviewed them and told me the lab results from the blood tests are all normal, including the platelet count. Perhaps the symptoms I'm experiencing are unrelated to the vaccines .. who knows? I will continue to monitor my symptoms, follow through with an appointment with an ENT and receive my 2nd dose of the Pfizer vaccine, as scheduled. I hope this helps to put other people's minds at ease, I feel much better about things.
