I also loved:

which reminded me of True Detective opening credit band which I really liked

Is there a name for this genre?  Is it a genre?

Depeche Mode - Everything Counts (a 1983 song that is so lyrically relevant today)

"Everything Counts"

The handshake seals the contract

From the contract there's no turning back

The turning point of a career

In Korea being insincere

The holiday was fun-packed

The contract, still intact

The grabbing hands grab all they can

All for themselves - after all

The grabbing hands grab all they can

All for themselves - after all

It's a competitive world

Everything counts in large amounts

The graph on the wall

Tells the story of it all

Picture it now see just how

The lies and deceit gained a little more power

Confidence - taken in

By a suntan and a grin

The grabbing hands grab all they can

All for themselves - after all

The grabbing hands grab all they can

All for themselves - after all

It's a competitive world

Everything counts in large amounts

The grabbing hands grab all they can

Everything counts in large amounts

Hey, good to see you here benzogirl. I did some digging last night, and realized that one of my fave 90's British Bands did a cover of Eight Miles High. Apparently, this is what you get when you have 4 young British lads who get equally influenced by the Byrds, The Who, as well as Neil Young, and some of the 80's American alternative bands such as Sonic Youth and Husker Du. Some people may think it borderline unlistenable, but I think it's a pretty interesting take. I wasn't going to put the Husker Du cover of the same song on the other thread out of respect for people with tinnitus issues.

So, if you're a tinnitus sufferer, please proceed with caution :)

Great band. Thank for sharing. Always loved Bruce's amazing vocal range.....

I am a big fan of his younger cousin Rob's ex-band, Catherine Wheel

My BIL never would let me forget about how I was blasting the Born to Run album one morning in the living room of the home I rented with my sister.  My sister had just met him and they were both in her bedroom trying to sleep in the morning.  The living room and her bedroom were right next to each other sharing the same wall.  That album came out in 1975, my sister didn't buy it until 1984 or so.  It was popular for a very long time.  I saw Bruce in concert one time and he played so long that we missed our bus to go home.  It was in Philadelphia.  It wore me out trying to listen to that concert for almost five hours.  A bit too much.  He had alot of energy.  Nice behind on the album cover, too.  I'm not even a big fan of Bruce's music.

August 25, 1975. A little earlier I guess.

Did the edit on my post while you posted, Betsy.  I originally thought it came out in 1985.  I didn't realize it was so much earlier.
