Oh well.. Thank you, BLABBERMOUTH. Would prefer to buy a large jar of Estee Lauder's cream than the ticket. Whoa, the money :'(

Yeah, still can somehow bear to see Slash onstage. As long as he plays like he does. I understand his desire to stay forever young. But he won't. These are laws of nature and one has to accept them in order to be happy. His music will live forever.

They're not the same skinny kids making great music, which I used to love over 20 yrs ago. They are mature men, destroyed by drugs and alcohol. Having survived. Some of them in the throes of a midlife crisis. With the mentality from about several decades earlier. Anyway, what counts is the music. Not the musician. Look at Lemmy of Motorhead. He became perfect upon his death. We all will. What I admire is they are able to go around the world with their stuff once more. Hopefully, not the last.

I don't get it why ppl keep criticizing Axl's voice. Let them go onstage and sing for several hrs every third or fifth day. The whole last year and a few mos. Vocal chords are not metal guitar strings. And Axl is 55. He hasn't got a voice like Mick Jagger. And he's putting all his energy into those gigs.

The two boys clearly love each other and it's fun to see. Money has an amazing effect. United by money.

Where is the beautiful, rejuvenating Melissa?

Next gig - Aug. 16, Buffalo, NY.

RIP Scott Weiland (Oct. 27, 1967 - Dec. 3, 2015)

Everything is fine and dandy.

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS "PLUSH" (1992)

Lyrics:

And I feel that time's a wasted go

So where ya going to tommorrow?

And I see that these are lies to come

Would you even care?

And I feel it

And I feel it

Where ya going for tommorrow?

Where ya going with that mask I found?

And I feel, and I feel

When the dogs begin to smell her

Will she smell alone?

And I feel, so much depends on the weather

So is it raining in your bedroom?

And I see, that these are the eyes of disarray

Would you even care?

And I feel it

And she feels it

Where ya going to tommorrow?

Where ya going with that mask I found?

And I feel, and I feel

When the dogs begin to smell her

Will she smell alone?

When the dogs do find her

Got time, time, to wait for tomorrow

To find it, to find it, to find it

When the dogs do find her

Got time, time, to wait for tomorrow

To find it, to find it, to find it

Where ya going for tommorrow?

Where ya going with that mask I found?

And I feel, and I feel

When the dogs begin to smell her

Will she smell alone?

When the dogs do find her

Got time, time, to wait for tomorrow

To find it, to find it, to find it

When the dogs do find her

Got time, time, to wait for tomorrow

To find it, to find it, to find it

Yeah, Bets. This song is absolutely stunning. Stone Temple Pilot's bassist Robert DeLeo came up with an awesome riff for "Plush", inspired by his love of Ragtime music. Then there's a gorgeous drums part by Eric Kretz.

Scott Weiland was one of the greatest rock singers ever. He had an amazing, powerful, expressive voice. Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins called him one of the three "voices of the generation", along Kurt Cobain and Layne Stayley.

All three of them gone tragically, way too young. Scott Weiland died of an accidental drug OD on his bus tour in Minnesota, in Dec. 2015, at the age of 48. Officially diagnosed as a "heart attack". Police found stuff like coke, alcohol, MDA, buprenorphine and... oh my - Geodon!

He was both severely addicted (also to heroin) and struggled with manic depression all his life. Couldn't get along neither with STP nor Velvet Revolver and had to quit both bands.

Having fired Scott Weiland from Velvet Revolver in 2008, Slash and Duff McKagan were unable to find an equally good singer. So, after some time, they rejoined GN'R.

The lyrics of "Plush", written by the drummer Eric Kreitz, were inspired by a discovery of a dead young woman's body in STP's native San Diego. Weiland has described the song as a "metaphor for a lost obsessive relationship." There are so many meanings this song can have for anyone.

I'm not impressed by the vid at all. It won some MTV award. I used to switch on MTV at primary school. I chiefly listen to the music without watching vids. Except for very good vids. I don't get why some ppl like this vid so much - the song is 100% better, as it allows to interpret the lyrics freely.

So glad you liked the song. One of my fav songs ever

Yeah, another gifted celebrity six feet under... And all those anonymous individuals killing themselves with drugs, booze and psych meds everyday.

I get you. Thanks for the info, though I would not say that Kurt had one of the best voices. Tragic though. I was upset to hear about Steely Dan's guitarist. Much too young to die at age 68............... :'(

RIP Walter Becker (Feb. 20, 1950 - Sept. 3, 2017). Very sad news. So many great musicians gone in recent years.

As to Kurt, for me his voice and singing style was absolutely hypnotyzing. He had a naturally raspy, expressive voice. His suicide at the age 27 - in April 5, 1994. Was a shock too me. He was far too sensitive and genuine for showbiz. It finished him off so quickly.

Here's an interesting article on Kurt's voice. But the best way is to listen to some of his songs. I kind of agree with Billy Corgan. However, we all have different tastes and opinions.

Happy Birthday, Freddie.  I haven't forgotten.  Yes -- there is so much radio ga, ga and goo, goo.  Still true!

Awesome concert vid, WBB. Queen's music will live forever ❤️ Haha, Brian May and his Red Special! He's building new ones and selling them now. Wonderful lead guitar player. Freddie was such a great singer. Gone way too soon.

My fav Queen vid will always be "We Are the Champions". Posting one with lyrics. For non-native speakers of English, like me.

This is the last of the "dark vibes" series, I hope. Gonna leave this place for a while and get some life maybe? Probably a good idea.

I highly recommend the book "Psychopath Free: Recovering from Emotionally Abusive Relationships With Narcissists" by Jason MacKenzie. If one is interested in emotional freedom. Not only the chemical one. The two go hand in hand, unfortunately.

I'm finally able to read on Kindle! Baby steps.

And please, google "song meanings" as rarely as possible. As the late Ian Curtis of Joy Division once nicely put it: "All my lyrics are open to interpretation by the individual and imply many different meanings, therefore their relevance is purely subjective." Lyrics are a kind of poetry. Better or worse. But poetry all the same.

I do love White Wedding as it was very popular when I was shopping for my wedding gown. Anyway I agree with not posting the meaning of lyrics as Paul has said many times about his song, Let It Be, that many people think it is about the Virgin Mary and he was speaking about his mom. He said let people believe in whatever they want to. It's all a matter of how they feel. Same for Paul Simon's Me and Julio Down by the School Yard. People have been debating this song for decades trying to figure which crime Julio committed. Also one reason why John wrote the song, I am The Walrus. He did this in part because he was sick to death of people trying to analyze Beatles songs. But he was also very stoned on LSD...

I love Billy Idol, Bets. My fav vid is "Cradle of Love". Directed by David Fincher. But what about the censorship?! The tune and lyrics are awesome, too. Perfect mix.

Love punk rock. Sex Pistols, Iggy Pop and the Stooges, Ramones, Blondie, Joy Division, Misfits, Beastie Boys, Green Day etc. Sid Vicious is not the best role model for this site, I guess. But Johnny Rotten is still alive and kicking...

And yeah, as to songs' meanings. One sometimes writes for the sake of the rhymes. Wrote two song texts in English recently. Wasn't easy to match the lyrics with the rhythm. Especially for a non-native speaker. One I translated directly from my native tongue. Had lots of fun doing it.

Hi Estee:

I do not normally like such music. Must be I'm getting old. But I used to see the Ramones at CBGB's in NY when I was a teen. We did a lot of body slamming there but I was young and stupid because CBGB's is located in a very unsafe part of the city. I recently bought a Ramones Shirt for a dollar. I do like Blondie and Iggy Pop. I can do w/o Johnny Rotten. I'm surprised he is still alive. And anyone named Vicious is suspect to me. lol.

BG - we must have rammed into each other in NYC at CBGBs -- I think I saw them there, too.  I was kind of in a black out for a decade.  I saw Lance Loud's band I think there, too.  Bunch of fun names back them. Lydia Lunch stands out.

Did you also go to Maxs' Kansas City then?  or Irving Plaza?  Or Squat Club. -- No New York was my era.

Hi Bets,

His real name was John Simon Ritchie. Was dubbed Sid Vicious after Johnny's "vicious" hamster Sidney had bitten him.

Born on 10 May 1957. Died on 2 Feb. 1979. At the age 21. Of a heroin OD. It really hurts a lot. Just crying when I read about his tragic life and watch these movies. It keeps coming back. Wish I could forget. All those faces, voices of friends at NA, AA meetings. Where are they now? Ex is alive. He's been sober from drugs and alcohol for 14 yrs. He saw an alcohol addict die with his own eyes. His father. AA is his lifeline.

Most vids cannot be posted here due to censorship, so you may google "Sid Vicious biography". I will always keep asking myself. Why did it have to happen?

IMO, what killed Sid was showbiz pressure combined with his self-destructiveness. His inherited addiction to heroin. And this manipulative, toxic gf, Nancy Spungen. He found a mom in her. She was just a slut, who wanted to alienate him from everyone able to help him.

Nancy was a typical example of a depraved junkie on a downward spiral. Enabling and ultimately destroying another. Well, she succeeded. Sid was shy, naive and insecure. No coping skills in the showbiz industry. Dependent personality disorder. He needed a crutch. Unfortunately, he found one that killed him.

I don't mourn Nancy's death at 20. Of course, he did not kill her. That's utterly absurd. I will always mourn his death. Cause to me, Johnny and him WERE the Sex Pistols. One of my fav bands of all times. He did not have to pay with his life to become a freaking rock legend. He could have a good, comfy life. Like guys from GN'R or The Rolling Stones.

Johnny was shrewd and reasonable. But fed up with Nancy's overwhelming presence and control. Broke all contact with Sid, who was ultimately left with his gf.

Sid was just a momma's boy. The same momma who gave him heroin on that fatal night of his death in Feb. 1979. When he was released after 7 weeks' rehab. She was a heroin addict herself.

He reminds me of my young, beautiful friends who died of heroin OD. One day they were alive. Sitting next to us at a NA meeting we attended with ex. The next day they were no longer here. They died in their twenties.

Written bio:

Less triggering video about Sid I found:

Last interview with Sid:

Lemmy Kilmister about the death of Sid and Nancy's role in it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImanvUpfxvc

All my tears cannot save the anonymous individuals who are killing themselves with heroin and other abusive substances at this very moment.

This too shall pass. I must move on. "Every junkie's like a setting sun." [Neil Young]
