I am planning out my DMT, calculating it all by hand. I plan on spending 2 weeks switching to liquid an getting accustomed to that first. Then the next 4 weeks I'll be tapering 0.004 mg/day, which is a 5-6% cut every two weeks. That's assuming no holds of course, which I expect I will have. Currently taking 0.5 mg X twice a day, one at breakfast and one at lunch.

If your doctor is helpful, you can get a script for the liquid form of Xanax made by Roxane. Then all you have to do is dilute it with water. I used it when I was on Xanax. It was so easy to dilute and measure. No dissolving needed.

Yes, I have an appointment with my doctor in 2 weeks where I plan on discussing this with him. But he's an infectious disease specialist and probably not benzo wise. Even though he prescribed these to me, because I practically demanded. I wish I had known...  :-[

I wanted a Z-drug. My doctor wouldn't give it to me. Told me benzos were safer!  ::)

Hi everyone!!  Getting really low in my taper these days.  Just looking for experience with when everyone jumped or plans to.  I’m down to 0.195 Xanax and dosing 2x a day.  Been reducing about 12-13% every 7 days.  I know Ashton recommends the equivalent of 0.5mg Valium which is 0.025 Xanax....but I also heard that those equivalents are a little outdated.  Thanks for any input!!

They aren't really outdated, they are just imprecise and misleading.  They are just estimates of relative, general potency.

All benzos share 2 therapeutic functions (anxiolytic, sedative, hypnotic/amnesiac, skeletal muscle relaxant,  and anticonvulsant) , but they very widely with respect to their relative effectiveness for the different therapeutic effects, so there is no real general equivalency.  For example, Xanax is most frequently prescribed as an anxiolytic, while Ativan is more likely to be prescribed as a hypnotic/amnesiac or muscle relaxant, diazepam is often prescribed a for panic disorder and sleep issues, etc.

The published "equivalencies" are probably a starting point for estimating cross-over ratios.

If you're using a liquid, you can easily go lower before you jump. Ashton was using pill-splitting, so didn't have as much flexibility.

Thanks builder and gard!!  I appreciate the explanation and clarification.  That’s what I was trying to get across.  I am doing liquid...just trying to get an idea for a safe jump dose.  I know everyone is different...just trying to get an idea since those jump numbers are mainly referring to crossovers.  Looking for my end game

I would suggest low n slow...

-I was about to jump, but just got hit hard again for a few days... (0.25v holding for months) -Try explaining that to a Dr..!

I think at low dose it becomes less about therapeautic effect, and more about receptor healing and chemical balance.. Depends how sensitive one is, and how we heal, etc.. (other meds too)

Ashton is a guide only, imo...

Let your body guide you, with the aid of recent tapering history...

All the best...

Do any of you experience depression and fatigue alternating with fear and anxiety, during DMT?

I’ve been very unstable lately and I don’t know if it’s from the taper itself or from getting lower than the dose I was CT’d from.  I know DMT is smoother than cut & hold for me...  just trying to find hope and reassurance, I guess.

Wishing you all wellness and healing in big ways.  My heart goes out to all that are suffering.

Love,

Uni

Absolutely. It's tolerable, though. If your symptoms become intolerable you might need a hold. I've sprinkled holds in, and they've always helped.

Thank you, Gard!  You really helped me to better accept this today, AND to know it's part of the process.  I'm on that fine line of "TIME TO HOLD", but things keep changing every couple days.  And sometimes within a day.  It's so unpredictable I just don't know what to do...  I've been having "hold days", too.  Was planning on holding today but I woke up with all the intense fear and surging anxiety quieted, and instead depressed and emotionally numb.  This is the strangest ride.  I hope you're doing well, my friend.

Much love and warm hugs,

Uni

Uni, I think you'll know when it's time to hold. I confess I tend push a little too hard but eventually come to my senses and slow down or hold. Better late than never! ::)

Wishing you healing, too. :smitten:

Benzo's are so unpredictable.  My biggest issue is back pain and it just moves around.  It will be in my side a few hours, move to my neck, next it's in my lower back.  It's so weird...no predicting from one day to the next how they will effect you.  Don't wait too late to hold or then you have to wait more time to heal.  Let your sxs guide you and give a pre-warning if possible.  I'm having to hold now because I didn't get the warning.  Looking back, I should have  :)

Ohhh I too do this.  Push just a little too far, when a hold would probably be better suited.  You’re right, better late than never.  And it’s a whole lot easier to manage with daily micro tapering, that’s for sure.  Much more flexibility with this method.  :)

Good advice, Mary.  I like your hold-one-day-a-week method.  Been thinking about trying this, just to give a “break” day.  I wish I knew what the warnings are...  I’m still so new to this that I still don’t know.  Yesterday I was clear that today I’d hold because of that crazy fear stuff, but to wake today with nine of that?  Just bizarre.  I’m learning from all of you.  Thank you for sharing with me  :smitten:

I’m glad you’ve caught it and are holding now.  The back pain is something else.  Mine is static and doesn’t really move.  I hope your hold settles things down really quickly for you!

Hi all,

I’m holding trying to do generic crossover, can’t decide which generic, having bad jaw pain teeth clenching & depression on both. Got so depressed started generic lexapro last night. I’m almost positive now that the clonazapam is causing me undue sedation, leading to excessive coffee, bad, poor know vicious cycle I know, I think I can tell one of these generics is causing more intrusive thoughts & teeth clenching & maybe less day time sedation, & one is more sedating & May causecless intrusive thoughts than the other, but not positive & if that’s the case with the later one, then, it would be an updose from teva, how could it then be causing teeth clenching, jaw pain, depression while updosng?

How do I hold when I can hardly function from fatigue?

I’m having a hard time articulating myself.

Do I choose the one that may be more of a down dose from teva?

Therefore maybe less daytime sedation, but more withdrawal. I think, it’s been hard to tell what each is doing.

Do I choose the one that may be an updose from teva knocking me on my but during the day but maybe less withdrawal?

How late mag do I hold?

It’s like I need off it ASAP, but get withdrawal & or am already in withdrawal.?. What does one do about this?

I’m sorry going in circles

Thanks
