50 and over club- withdrawal and recovery issues for the aged :-)

Spunky - it's not bad to be 75:)  Unless they have serious health problems, all my elderly friends, myself included, feel very happy and positive about life.  If I didn't feel this way I'd be back on benzos yesterday.

I'd say my very best decade was when I was in my 60's.  I was still running, and that's the only thing I miss about being 75.

Because of health issues I have felt 90 at times and I am in my 50's. I also felt like I would never be one of those healthy seniors you speak of.  But maybe if I get off the benzos my health will return and I can be a chipper ole gal ;D

It's great how you and your friends can maintain a positive attitude, Paresthesia.  My father is almost 90 and I think that's part of his secret.  However, it seems like the sixties and maybe some of the seventies are the last good years.  I have so many relatives and family who started to have fairly significant health probems once they either reached or got in the the range of 80-85 ::).  I might have to call it quits at 79!  Well, I guess that might not sound so good at 75 :pokey:.  I read about your virus causing the vertigo, sorry to hear it and the ongoing balance problems.  You're right, keeping one's sense of humor can be very important as well as an opmtimistic outlook .

Good luck with the rest of your taper, Debbie.  You'll be finished in no time and before it's time to collect social security  (if you live in the USA that is and assuming it's still solvent :))

No worries Garuda, part of life.  So how are you doing at 37 months?  Not fair to be diagnosed as an old geyser but as some have said, we can get some senior discounts pretty soon, perhaps on the benzo bus rental :-)

Yesterday was my Dad's 80th Birthday, I can't keep up with him. I think that I feel and act older. he still teaches at university. I can't work anymore. it's like a aged 20 years this past few years.

I'm going fine at 37 months. I'm packing now for vacation. I'm flying out Chicago to spend time with friends. I hate flying because I still feel things so strongly. even the lane changing in a car, I feel it so strong. but I'm really doing pretty good WD wise. I still have waves and windows. it seems the windows last longer and the waves not as long. I hope that is true.

Hi - 67 here - failed first taper.  Probably because of the other meds I c/t from, didn't know any better.  Need oxygen at night, plus other breathing meds - also makes the tapering harder.

Posted for help with a microtaper - see if I can make it that way.  Otherwise, I just give up.

Popcornlady

On 1mg for 1 year - then 3mg for short time and then quick taper, and failure, and reinstated per doctor

PopcornLady, don't be discouraged, take it real slow. the slower the better. you didn't fail at anything, you are still doing it.

I think I came off too fast and that might be why I'm having such problems with the balance and dizziness.  I was just so tired of it and wanted to get it over with.  Live and learn right?

Count me in for Disney.............56 yrs young. On ativan 14 months due to mis-diagnosis of a genetic illness. C/O to V.  Down to 4.6 mg

V.  Slow micro taper by listening to my body and experimenting with cuts.  Few walls hit but moving forward slow but sure.

Benzo Bus here I come!  :yippee:

Anyone remember Mr. Toads wild ride at Disney? It is gone!!! At least in Florida it is.

Ghost,

Your right, "Mr. Toads Wild Ride" was closed at Disney World in 1998, and replaced by "Hundred Acre Woods ", but the original  "Mr. Toads Wild Ride" still remains at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA

It was my favorite ride when I was just little lad! Well, it kind of still is! ::)
