Thanks, Mary!  That’s great you have a skilled hubby and are finding some relief from movement. Gua sha helps me some. If you know the name of the cream, that would be great! I have a nick injury so everything was tight pre clonzapam. I think I am having interdose issues bc I dose once a day.

It's Natures Kiss, Anti-Flamme' on Amazon, it's not cheap but it lasts a long time and you can use your heating pad no problem.  The whole physio group I go to use it!  Hope it helps  :D.  Mary

I have been suffering with severe back pain( muscular not disk). Sometimes it's so bad I feel nauseated. It can go on for weeks and then one day it will be gone. Just out of the blue. It may be back  a couple weeks or a couple months. I don't know if it's tightening of the muscles or what. Anyone else? Do you take anything for it?

I woke up with miserable muscle pain in the back of my neck and shoulders. I can feel a headache on the way. I use ice and heat alternating. Massage helps too. Time to make an appt. >:(

This is just a thought , because it is helping me.  There was a pain specialist on the local news a couple weeks ago, she was saying that a mix of acetaminophen and ibuprofen together works as well as some of the opioids.  There is an old medicine called Goody Powders that has a mix of that plus alittle caffeine.  It does seem to help with my muscles.  I only take it when I am really in pain.  Hope this helps someone.  Mary 💜

Hi everyone. I'd like to join this support group. Does anyone also have chronic contracture of the piriformis muscles? I used to think it was a consequence of my herniated disk, but I'm starting to think it might be withdrawal. This muscle is just in the middle of your bottom. It's very incapacitating. I can barely bend and it's agony even to bend to brush my teeth or change the garbage bag. I stretch every day and it gets a tiny bit better but that's all.

One of my main symptoms now is muscle pain. It is so debilitating and frustrating. I believe one day once the brain heals it will decrease and hopefully go away. I have a lot of neck and shoulder pain because I lifted so many patients during my career. I used by upper body to save my lower back. That seems to be my weak area. The Piraformis can be so painful. I have gotten massage and it really helps with that. It is a deep muscle. Stretching does help a lot.

Yes and all back, shoulder and neck muscles. Literally bowing spine out.

I was on the drugs for muscle tightness but this is unbearable. Tried reinstati g but now paradoxical to everything even other muscle relaxants. I even tried Botox in a few places. Botox May be able to treat piriformis but some ppl have bad reactions. I didn’t.

Dana and Ajusta thanks for answering. Ajusta I'm sorry it's so bad that you even had to updose, and even more sorry that it didn't work.

Has anyone ever done a LONG HOLD, and I'm talking about more than three months, and seen noticeable improvement in their muscle pain? I'd take this over the psychological symptoms for sure, but I see 90 year old women with more mobility than I have.

Hi Suzanne. I'm sorry you're going through all that. To be honest, after the updose and hold (which is going to be much longer), my psychological issues are improving but with very very bad waves, like today I'm back in hell: fear, depression, you name it. However, before the crash, my muscle pain was disabling. I couldn't even text on my phone Suzanne, I had to use my voice, imagine how extreme the back pain was. With the updose and hold as I said the psychological symptoms are I suppose improving but oh so slowly dear one that many days, like today, I think I'm permanently damaged and I will die. However, the muscle pain is there (piriformis and middle back mainly, and legs), but Gosh the level of pain has decreased dramatically. I don't recommend anyone updosing, you know I just had to because I just can't stop motherhood for a year. However, maybe holding can make muscle pain decrease? And I say maybe because this is all a mistery and I read that what has worked for some hasn't worked for others. Hope you get better Suzanne.

I knoe you had to updose. I woul have too. You need to be functional for your daughter. I am going to hold. It is strange when i feel good not great i think oh let me cut. I know what reality is and i just go on. It has gotten weaker and weaker. The crazy thoughts and panics. It isnt you its the benzo. I hope your muscle pain gets betyer. I hate this not sure if i should go dr or wait it out. Love u v

Love you too Suzanne. You can go to a doctor to have it checked out. Usually it will be withdrawal as we both know. Is there any new pain? The thing that is a bit strange is the bruises. Have you typed "bruises" in the search bar to see what comes up? The piriformis is withdrawal in my case. I do have a herniated disk and a very squashed L5 disk, very deteriorated from a bad fall when I was 12 year old. That has developed into the herniated disk. However the piriformis and middle back pain started with my taper but I didn't make the connection because I wasn't on BBs.

And thanks for what you tell me about not believing all these negative thoughts. I'll try Suzanne. You're very wise. More than you think.

V..Make sure you stretch and strenthening excercises. I does help it is just harder because you so out of it. Look up on utube. Start slow. I do it everyday. I think i knocked the bursitis out. Sometimes it feels as though your spitting in the wind cuz it takes forever omg

Thank you Suzanne! I'm very tired because I sleep very little, but OK I'll try to do some abs. Abs are what help the most with my back, and stretching I do every day for the piriformis. Otherwise it's unbearable. Oh, and I did swim a lot these past days at the beach. Every morning I thought "how am I ever going to get there", I was scared. But then in the afternoon we went and at the end I swam and enjoyed. Nature is really magical and I believe opens those neural pathways they talk about. But I'm back in the city as Alejandro Sanz says so no sea here and my knees are in no condition for long walks. Let's see if they open the winter pool in one month and I'll take up swimming on a regular basis.

Suzanne have you gone to the GP to ask him if there's any other reason for the bruising? Muscle pain is WD but IDK about bruising. I'd prefer if you check  ???

Lack of deep sleep causes my muscle pain as well. I’ve had fibromyalgia in the past and it’s come back in withdrawal. This time it feels like it resolves as the taper stabilizes, then gets worse as I go down again. Hopefully it will be lessened the longer my body has a chance to heal. The  emotional healing work is helping as well. Holding emotional stuff in the body, learning to let it go snapdragon manage it when it comes up.
