Proudpam-

That's great news! So glad u are feeling well. I got out for a walk yesterday and felt overwhelmed with joy for how good I was feeling too! I'm going to start micro tapering  by .02 mg next week. I'm at 4mg now. Stay tuned! I also feel this might be the answer to my prayers too. I expect a few down days but that's better than 3 or 4 days of misery. I wish u well with the rest of your taper.

Thanks Mimi and MM74!

Yes I feel some hope.  MM74, you are doing great!  Mimi you taught me

to listen to my body and not rush it.  That understanding and accepting

to go slow has made a world of difference emotionally for me.  It feels like

a cloud has been lifted.  MM74 I pray for continued good luck with your taper!!

Blessings!  Pam

Hi everyone:

I'm not using liquid valium but am finding some very good information on this thread.  I just started doing water titration with clonazepam yesterday and hoping that my cuts are reasonable and safe.

Yesterday I suspended 0.75 mg of clonazepam in 100 ml of water, removed 0.5 ml, and split the remaining 99.5 ml 0.74625 mg or into 4 doses throughout the day.  Today I removed 1 ml and am splitting the remaining 99 ml or 0.7425 mg into 4 doses.  I think I will stay at this dose for a while before making another cut as I'm new to titration and not sure how much of a reduction I can handle.

Thanks everyone for posting so much valuable information on this thread.

Hi MM,

I wanted to wish you good luck on your taper. I think titration is the way to go especially with the more potent benzos. I am in the process of crossing over to all liquid Diazepam . Last night was my first dose using the liquid it tastes nasty but will make the cuts much more accurate . I think it's best to go slow and listen to your body.

It has been four weeks since my cut from 5. to 4.5 mgs of valium Tonight I am going to make a cut to 4.4 using the liquid and pills will hold a few days and see what happens. Does anyone mix the liquid in with yogurt or any thing else? I just squirt it in my mouth and it tastes like doo doo.

Hi Anton... I stayed with a combo of liquid and pills because I did not like the taste of the liquid.. so never took more than .75 of the solution at one time.  At your current dose, I would be taking two 2 mgs tablets of diazepam, and .4 mgs of liquid.  The gain for going all liquid was not worth the lousy taste!

All the best,

Georgie

Hi Anton

Yeah full strength it tastes knda intense.  You can mix with alot of water, milk or yogurt.  Just make sure and rinse whatever you mix in with water and drink so you get every drop.

Hi

Does anyone know if you can dilute all kinds of liquid valium and all brands?

I use whatever brand my pharmacist can get hold of.I have no control over what brand I get, so I get all different brands.

I would like to be able to dilute my liquid valium and carry it in a bottle for convenience, so that I don't have to use the syringe and bottle when I am not at  home.

Many thanks

HI Journey

I would ask your pharmacist to order the Roxanne Brand in the 5mg:5ml strength.  It is the easiest to dilute because it is a 1:1 dilution.  The math is much easier.  I am pretty sure you can dilute them all with water as they use a small amount of alcohol which make them solvent with water.

As for being out and about....You can use a main jar for mixing liquid V and water THEN remove your cut and then pour equal amounts in to (however many times a day you dose) Baby food jars (throw out the baby food) and take with you for dosing.  After drinking your dose add more water to the jar and rinse it and then drink it as well to make sure you get every drop!

Hope that helps!

Hi mimi

Thanks for your post. I live in the UK and unfortunately, cannot control what brand I receive.

2mg in 5ml is also the only strength they do, even though there are other strengths out there.

I don't know why there are these limitiations, but it was even very difficult for me to get hold of the liquid in the first place, so I am fairly restricted.

One of the advisors on the specialised phone line of the benzo charity we have in the UK said that she wasn't sure if the liquid valium would deteriorate if stored in water for a few hours.

I use 1ml syringes and each little tiny gap on the markings is 0.04mg, but the liquid is so viscous that I am unable to accurately see these tiny markings.

HI Journey

I mixed my dose (with water) for the day in the am and then took it at 11am and 11pm. I did not store it for any longer. I intially used the 2mg:5ml strength but then switiched so the calculations will be easier.  Using your strength each 1ml syringe only has .40mg of valium in it....thats pretty good actually.  I am bad at math but maybe someone can help you add enough water so that you can get to a dilution that is easier to calculate your cuts when you get lower.

Hope you are feeling well!

Hi all,

I take liq val, and like someone else I just use it for the lower parts of my dose. Mainly because my doctor had to jump through hoops to get the liquid, so I want to use the easier to get pills as much as I can. I can cut a 2 mg pill 4 times relatively acurately so any dose .5 and up is pill and anything less than .5 is liq. I do have 1-1 liquid, so that is easier, but you are right, it's difficult to see. I have a 1 mlg syringe that has .1 incrments, actually the increments go smaller but I'm not going to dose any less than .1mg. Figuring out the dosing exchange does sound difficult. I would figure it out and write it down and keep your list.

I don't know about you but my benzo brain needs notes! Everywhere. lol. I have a sticky note on the inside of my med cabinet that has the current dose on it. I also use daily pill boxes so I remember if I took it. And I only take it at night.

That is why I got on here in the first place, why are you dosing more than once a day? Valium builds up in your system and unlike the short half lives other benzos, you should be able to take it all at one time. I take it at night a) out of habit and b) because I find it sedating and that works into sleep.

Just seems unnecessary to go to all that trouble to take it with you. You have to do what works for you, but I like to keep it simple as possible. This journey has enough challenges as it is.

Just chiming in.

HI Sarah

Many find great relief from dosing a few times a day.  Really helps with interdose withdrawal as well as avoid spikes in the levels of the blood.  Although valium has a long half life if you are a "fast metabolizer" you might experience w/d between doses -especially at the lower doses.  There is another thought that keeping the levels in your blood stable with a slight cut every 24 hours allows the body/brain to sense the reduction and up regulate more efficiently.

Glad you are doing well with what works for you.  Whatever works best for each of us is the way to go!

Mimi- I was wondering how often you dosed during your micro taper. I'm using valium and dose twice a day. I started daily micro cuts. Did you dose more often than that? If so, did you have to dose during the night? Thanks for your input.

Hi MM74

I normally dosed twice a day at 11am and 11pm (however I work from home so those times were convenient for me).

And there were times when my taper caught up with me and I would become pretty symptomatic and so would dose 4-6 times a day.

It was weird but there were a few times at the lower doses when symptoms spiked I would sometimes become "sensitive" to my dose. I actually felt worse when taking my dose... It felt like my CNS was SOOO sensitive that taking my dose almost gave me a rush.  I used to say my CNS was like a scraped knee and trying to put on the medicine and a bandaid (which was GOOD for it) was painful.  I think my CNS was just so overwhelmed with the taper and having to "process" the valium was too stimulating instead of calming.  IN those instances I found really tiny doses spread throughout the day much easier for my CNS to tolerate.  Sometimes if this was really bad I would measure and then pour my dose into a glass of water and just sipped it throughout the day.  Within a few days it would pass (CNS would settle down) and I could go back to my normal 2 doses.

I found a few tricks that got me over those bumps in the road and I could then move on with little or no symptoms.  I had to remind myself that I just needed to work with my body and be gentle and it would move forward and -it did!

Hey Mimi

how have you been going.  Just writing a quick question for you.  I have only after all these weeks just stabilised.  I dont feel stable i feel very very fragile.  however im keen to get this underway.  in your opinion should i hold a bit longer to give myself a break or should i start the cutting now.  Was going to do a .2 cut.

Hi Lizzy

I am doing just great.  I have a new puppy and spending alot of time training her and getting lots of love.  Its a true sign of my healing that I am able to take on this new "baby" in the family!

Glad you are feeling somewhat better.  I would proceed with a .02mg cut each day and see how you feel after 10days or 2 weeks.  If symptoms get worse then hold a few days and try again.

I really have no experience taking larger cuts and holding...I only used tiny daily cuts.

Let me know if you need any help figuring out how to titrate.

HI Lizzy

Given the huge amount of benzo you dropped as well as the other drugs you were given...I have no idea how you will fare on the way down.  If you can get to a place where you feel some what stable you could try titrating a tiny bit each day and see how you feel after 10 days.

I can't remember...do you have liquid V and if do what is the strength?
