You can either keep the door open to hell and let those things consume you, or you can close it, start accepting help and know you will heal.

Couldn't agree more. This thread goes back to June and it is literally the same as it is today.

Over and over for months people who have been through benzo w/d, or are going through it, all tell you the same thing about the same symptoms.

Doctors tell you nothing is physically wrong with you.

So now what? What's next Mike? How long does this go on until I read something about YOU helping YOURSELF? I'd like to know what you do to make yourself feel better, what healthy steps are you taking to pull yourself out of this?

MIkey,

YOu are going to make it to Christmas..me too...we are going to be celebrating a few months off of benzos by then, and probably seeing some major progress towards healing by then...:)

Mikey, by Christmas you just might be seeing improvements. This is just benzo w/d, there is nothing else wrong with you. Tests have not found anything, so take comfort in that and accept that this is w/d and takes time to heal. Hang in there Mikey

Mikey,

Keryn just gave you some great information that came directly from the Ashton Manual.

I agree with Keryn, many of us that have trouble sleeping, would probably like to borrow the "sleep all the time" symptom that you are having.  I would certainly rather sleep, than be up for 24 hours plus at a time, so that symptom may seem bad, but trust me...many of us are dealing with the opposite..insomnia...and that, in my opinion, is 1000 times worse.

Hang in there buddie..

I have to agree with TC, I will trade you symptoms. Sleeping too much versus insomnia, I will take the sleeping too much   Hope you are doing okay Mikey, it is just w/d, hang in there! Keryn gave you some great info to read over Mikey.

Wow!  Why?  Is something wrong?  Does colon cancer run in your family?

How do you afford all of these tests?  After awhile they are pretty draining...

Mike,

I am not sure why at your age you would want to get a colonoscopy, but if it somehow makes you feel better, I suppose then it could be good for you.  That procedure is normally reserved for someone much older, but again if it eases your mind, then maybe it is a good thing.

My main concern..if it were me...would be reintroducing some sort of benzo as they will put you under for the procedure.  My point to all this is..if its not neccessary....and I don't claim to know your medical history....but from what you said..you are sort of having it just to have it....why introduce benzos back again?  You can read several stories of people who had symptoms flare up....after going "under" prior to surgery when only a short time off benzos...

Hi Mikey, if getting the test done will give you piece of mind then go ahead with it. It seems extreme on someone so young, but if the doctors suggest it, you can have it done and see what the results are. I would try and ask them to not use a benzo on you for the test, some have had bad reactions to them when still in w/d as TC mentioned. Please try and take comfort in the fact that all of the tests you have had done have found nothing wrong with you. It's benzo w/d Mikey, it will get better with time, you just have to hang in there.
