Hello All,

Back at the beginning of this thread there was a recommendation in regard to ACRN protocol.

Just a quick FYI: I have tinnitus and the ACRN protocol (http://generalfuzz.net/acrn/) does works for me. However, I am stuck to my computer because I can not figure out a way to record the program I designed and then transfer to my iPhone.  I was wondering is there anyone out there that has a recommendation how to record the ACRN program to a Mac and then transfer to an iPhone?

Cheers,

Adie

Nova,

What's your opinion... My tinnitus seemed to improve GREATLY from the pitch and volume it was at, this improvement was noted about 1.5 - 2 months ago. However, it's remained the same since. I hope it's still going to go away? I have two theories, one is as proven as I need it.

I believe it was caused by my buspar. I say this for a few reasons -- I had tinnitus in acute but it went away after 3 or 4 days. Also, I was so desperate for anxiety relief, at the time still thinking it was most likely the w/d, I took a buspar. Wow was that a mistake. My tinnitus reached volumes and pitches similar to that of when it started.

However, my other theory is it has to be a combo of things. I've read up a lot of TMJ and jaw issues since my clenching began. It's over now and I think my tinnitus has been healing along with my jaw. The clenching stopped a while ago, however only two weeks ago could I open it without any cracking or anything. So, I have no idea what exactly caused it. I think it was the buspar, but then there's the w/d, my jaw, etc.

Either way I hope this goes away soon!

Hello all,

My ear ringing is so loud it's all I "hear" in a quite room....so I have to keep things noisy around me. Tv, radio, I also sleep with a sound machine ( white noise) at night.

My ears are very sensitive thou, can't listen to stuff very loud.

This is one of my biggest complaints now, except for the never ending balance issue.

Will this ever go away? It seems much worse now than ever.

I'm 41 months off Xanax!

How long can this linger? I know stuff takes time...if it never went away....I could deal I guess.

I'd rather the boaty feeling end....but maybe they are connected somehow ?

Anyone else have the boaty feeling and ear ringing?

Thanks much, little

Hi Little,

Yes I believe it will eventually go away. I had that same unbalanced “boaty” feeling for probably two years. It finally did go away...

In regard to ringing in your ears (tinnitus). It goes away for some and sticks around for other...this one is hard to predict. Mine started at a very low level and over time increased in volume. But this goes in waves. It’s fine for awhile then bingo it goes ballistic. Mine seems to be directly connect to how congested I am so keep an eye on the “makers” that may cause the volume to increase and try and control them if possible. If you have a iPhone there is an app called “White Noise” that has some very good masking sounds that will help...

Cheers,

Adie

Hi MCM,  yes its possible its all withdrawal symptoms . Everything your describing I have or have had. I also have a protracted cough, another withdrawal symptom I take no notice of except the one time last year I coughed non stop for 5 days and nights and  although I knew I was probably WD related, called my Doctor out to check it. She said I had a upper respiratory  viral infection and I would be ill for a few weeks until it went away by its self. 2 days later I was perfecter fine and the cough went for a few weeks then came back full force and its been doing that for months, one minute coughing attacks for ages goes comes back others have it too :)

Is there anyone went c/t and healed from Tinnitus?

I CT'd from a high dose of Xanax. My tinnitus has shown improvement and I've heard from a ton of people that theirs went away. Its either from damage nerves and/or chemical movement in the brain and either way - both heal.

Mine spikes up once in a while. It also disappears once in a while, too. Rest assured. It'll go away! It hasn't for few, but I tend to see consistencies of continued use/reinstatement, SSRIs, etc. tons of things can cause it or prevent healing.

I have been reading all of the comments in this thread and I wonder if anyone got healed completely  :idiot:

Beste - we all heal. Unfortunately some people have to take other meds (mainly antidepressants) during this or after this and they're all what they call ototoxic - toxic to ears. That could very well be the reason some people still have it. My ENT gave me full check up and I have no hearing loss of damage, so I know it's just the w/d. I'm confident it's the same for you.

Hey

I really liked your username 😊

Yeah I got checked my ears when this T thing first showed up 2 months ago and everything just came perfect (finger cross/Thank God) My greatest doubt is because I developed this after some kind of vertigo attack two nights and the other night out of blue it just came. This is my only symptom I can say. I hope it will go away completely for all of us. It has already been 2 months and still drives me nuts!

I'm sory for bothering everyone but I just read about it on the internet more than I should and it scared me! I used to listen music so loud with my earplugs..

Let's hope it is just a temporary thing.

Since we got off this poison our jaw muscles and TMJ have to deal with so much stress. So I'm really wondering if our tinnitus intensity is related to our jaws. I have checked my jaw a TMJ specialist and he said that I don't have TMJD but my wisdom teeth are too big for my mouth and this may cause the clicking and crackling sound of my jaw.

How many of us have checked their jaws by a specialist? Maybe a night splint may help our muscles to relax to get relief from tinnitus.

Beste - that was a theory of mine after researching. Unfortunately, I took buspar for a month, and then had the jaw issue plus the theory that it's chemicals in our brains. I'm afraid I'll never know. But I did take a buspar a month ago out of desperation for relief, and I had all sorts of pitches. So I know if contributed, but I obviously can't discredit the w/d nor the jaw.

I am still healing, but I can already attest to my tinnitus improving greatly! I pray it'll go away for good. It's down to a very low-volume hiss. When I wake up, it's barely there. It's worse at night which tells me it's just something that's healing, and like most things that heal being worse at night. Barely had any face zaps, too!

Prayers for all!

I'm so happy that you are healing. Aftet 2 months of having T, mine is getting worse. It started in my left ear only and now it is also in my right ear too! This is crazy! I don't know what to do anymore. It is spring time already and I'm sitting all day long in my room. Don't eat well, don't smile, don't wanna live. I'm so scared of never being well again. I only live in my dreams. Every night I dream about my beautiful boyfriend and amazing days we used to have. We celebrated our anniversary last week but I feel like my body was not there.

I used to listen music so loud with my earplugs and now I'm scared if this is not benzo related but a permanent damage. But my hearing test came out good(Thanks God). I hate this waiting game. I have almost no other symptom but this..

I just can't stand this anymore..

Am I the only one who can feel the T inside of my head? When I put my head on my pillow, I can feel vibrating. Wow, something is really going wrong with w/d.

Beste, the T is your brain firing it`s not your ear and I was fishing all day yesterday and being in the boat with the sounds of water I noticed after several hours I did not notice my T but once off the water it is again screaming but all I can do is deal with it ! On a positive note if you did not have T before you tapered it should eventually go away! Just do your best to deal with it for now mine sounds like a Tea Kettle so know there are a lot of us dealing with it !

Hey can do

Thank you for your answer.

I thankfully never had T before benzod but unfortunately I went c/t. So, I'm still afraid of possible permanent damage to GABA and inner ear. I want to ask some questions if you let me.

I gained this symptom when I was 6 weeks off and never had any othet symptoms besides it. Isn't it strange? And it only started in my left ear and now it is also in my right ear. I sometimes doubt if all of this related to w/d.

Beste, it may not be all withdrawl just that the benzo w/d makes anything you have going on worse try your best to hang in there and ask me anything as I am glad to help you !
