Sorry Metallica, you tried but missed the mark.

Long time no see, Rockfan. I love that Thin Lizzy song. Phil Lynott was a great musician. Metallica choose excellent songs, so it’s hard to record something better than the original version.

Here I think Metallica’s version is as good as the original song. Though the punk rock sound is replaced by the thrash metal sound. Metallica recorded something very different and original.

"The Wait"

(1980)

Anyway, the guys are getting back to work soon. The Fall is coming...

James Hetfield is a true role model in the Rock industry if I ever known one. I know there's many that don't particularly like that genre of music......which I get.

But I have to say I have watched and followed him and the band almost from the onset. This MAN has matured leaps and bounds far beyond most expectations, so humble, so well spoken, and giving back now to community's in need. All the trials and tribulations and personal demons he's fought off to become a truly great human being. All while being subjected to the temptations that are put right in front of him while on the road. That takes willpower IMO

I recall someone interviewing him and asking how he responds to the endless questions from people at meet n greets, interviews ect....

His reply was that the fans now knows pretty much everything there is to know about him (or can find out easily) and his life. When he meets the excited fans, he wants to know something about them, what they do or enjoy in life and what their hobbies are. I thought that was priceless. Never heard another "rock star" say that........kinda blew me away.

If there was ONE person I could meet.....hands down it would be James. I hope Het had a great birthday!

It's A Great Day to Be Alive!

Yeah, it's country and a little cheesy but it's good!

I got rice cooking in the microwave

I got a three day beard I don't plan to shave

It's a goofy thing but I just gotta say, hey,

I'm doing alright

Yeah I think I'll make me some home-made soup

I'm feeling pretty good and that's the truth

It's neither drink nor drug induced, no,

I'm just doing alright

And it's a great day to be alive

I know the sun's still shining

When I close my eyes

There's some hard times in the neighborhood

But why can't every day be just this good

It's been fifteen years since I left home

I said good luck to every seed I'd sown

Gave it my best and then I left it alone

I hope they're doing alright

Now I look in the mirror and what do I see

A lone wolf there staring back at me

Long in the tooth but harmless as can be

Lord I guess he's doin' alright

And it's a great day to be alive

I know the sun's still shining

When I close my eyes

There's some hard times in the neighborhood

But why can't every day be just this good

Sometimes it's lonely, sometimes it's only me

And the shadows that fill this room

Sometimes I'm falling, desperately calling

Howling at the moon, ah-ooh, ah-ooh

Well, I might go get me a new tattoo

Or take my old Harley for three day cruise

Might even grow me a fu man chu

And it's a great day to be alive

I know the sun's still shining

When I close my eyes

There's some hard times in the neighborhood

But why can't every day be just this good

And it's a great day to be alive

I know the sun's still shining

When I close my eyes

There's some hard times in the neighborhood

But why can't every day be just this good, ah-ooh, oh yeah

It was only a matter of time until I came in here to do this. Music has been such a HUGE part of my recovery. I'm here to share some tunes in hopes of spreading positive vibes.

Feel free to share a tune or two.

Of course, I'm starting this out with my "Flagship" band. Pink Floyd: Grantchester Meadows.
