My goodness! So on my third year anniversary I was physically in church and it was a couple of special folks birthday that day and then the weather was nice so me and my son enjoyed the day and the week went on and on and on and today I just realized I missed my anniversary. I want to also wish her happy belated anniversary to you Fiona and ABCD. Also good news is that I started power walking again!!!! Wooo hoooo! I haven't really made a public announcement on it but the last time I did a power walk and I had to work up to this I did a mile and a half. And to have inner ear disturbance and being able to do that is quite a miracle. So let's enjoy our belated anniversary and to Good Health with a piece of cake. I love you all and just know that even though I'm not on here often I do continue to pray for all of you.

Hello everyone! Today makes 41 months off. Wow! Sorry I've been MIA. I've been doing a lot which is amazing to say. I feel so much better. I'm not 💯% yet but close.

 

What my doctor and I realized is that being on Benzos really slowed down the healing process for Lyme and what not and threw my inner ear off for real.

 

I'm happy to report that I power walk 1-2x a week and do about 3-6 miles a week! My God it feels wonderful!

 

This summer we went to water parks and the movies because now I can handle a movie because of neuro sensory issues are at a low. I was able to go down water slides with my son! Swim in a pool! Hadn't done that in 5 years or so. I completed and published another poetry book! Last night we went to Disney On Ice! I volunteer at my son's school! Just feels good to be able to do things and live in the world and even though I have some symptoms left there are not crushing.

 

So here's a cake! I love you all and I think of all of you often and keep praying for my benzo buddy family. Healing is here and now!

I am so pleased you are doing well, LM and congratulations on reaching the end of another month.  I guess it is 42 months for me although it feels like a lifetime really.  Still making little bits of progress but not quite up to power walking yet.  I have started going to the swimming pool and was very pleased that I could actually swim a little bit.  I hope you will continue to see improvements over the coming months.

That is super that you're going to the pool! Yay!!!! Proud of you. Water is so therapeutic and healing. I'm really happy for you. One day we will all sit back and be symptom-free and look at this journey and be able to tell one another in the world that we made it! We survived!

 

I love you so much! I love all of you. And I'm so sorry I've been MIA I did not even realize it was since May or June since I've logged on. The Summer started and when I got that first flyer to go on a field trip to the water park at first I was not going to go but didn't want to let my son down and that turned out to be one of the greatest days I've had in so many years.

 

I cry tears of joy just thinking about it because I laughed and smiled so much that day and my son saw something in me that he hadn't seen probably ever in his childhood. And we've just been living it up ever since. After that awful job let me go in February that really helped out my healing process a lot. So there is life after benzos and in my case there is life after Lyme disease. And although I'm still with a few symptoms I believe deep deep in my heart and soul and spirit that they will go away very soon. That is my hope and prayer for each of you that read this and who are on benzo Buddies.
