WhAt is the burning sensation?

My body wakes suddenly every morning 3-4 am usually while in REM sleep, like being pulled to the surface to full wakefulness.

 

Then i get a burning sensation in my upper body that lasts hours.

 

What is the burning sensation? It improves if i more ve around or rub my skin, its not akathisia, uve had that before. Its lije burning heat and if i take covers off, like burning cold.

That burning feeling (usually skin) is very common during withdrawal.  Mine was mostly in my hands and feet, but it can be pretty much anywhere.  It will resolve in time.

Professor Ashton mentioned it in her manual.

 

Bodily sensations. All sorts of strange tinglings, pins and needles, patches of numbness, feelings of electric shocks, sensations of hot and cold, itching, and deep burning pain are not uncommon during benzodiazepine withdrawal. It is difficult to give an exact explanation for these sensations but, like motor nerves, the sensory nerves, along with their connections in the spinal cord and brain, become hyperexcitable during withdrawal. It is possible that sensory receptors in skin and muscle, and in the tissue sheaths around bones, may fire off impulses chaotically in response to stimuli that do not normally affect them.

It's pretty common, I had it too for a few months.
