potential problems w/ high fat/keto diet

Overall, since doing keto about 5-6 months ago it has helped me mentally and with tapering. I ate healthy foods but way too many nuts and nut/seed butters and meats. I started getting worrisome pain in my upper-left abdominal area, along with back pain in the left-middle region about a week ago. I've been pretty obsessed with pancreatic cancer for awhile now and always feared the worst case scenario so it makes sense that this pain can be contributed to severe anxiety and emotional stress. The pain started in the back the day after putting my dog asleep too. She was 12-13 yrs old and was suffering, so it needed to be done. I'm devastated but relieved she can finally rest. Not sure how much of this back pain is related to all that but it really seems like something is wrong with my pancreas. I've been having this vague discomfort in the upper left stomach for awhile now, probably a little over a year to varying degrees here and there after eating. I went to the ER recently trying to get an ultrasound but my blood lipase levels were normal and they sent me on my way. All other blood work was normal besides a slightly elevated anion gap and traces of ketones in my urine. I have no other symptoms besides abdominal discomfort and now this persistent mid-left back pain that gets worse after eating, especially fatty foods. The pain gets worse after lying down. Also, I can't get anyone to think this is anything but anxiety either. I have to wait until mid August to see the GI specialist. My stress has been ridiculously elevated lately too from multiple issues I'm facing that is forcing me to taper as fast as I possibly can. I should be off gabapentin in about a week or sooner and phenibut by July or August. Basically, this odontogenic cyst I have provoked this rapid tapering and also I realized that I was going way too slow before. Coming off gabapentin is a mind fuck but nothing really too serious as long as you pace the drops every 2-3 days. I used to think it was really difficult after reading other peoples negative experiences but it really isn't in comparison to benzos, at least for myself. I did reinstate memantine though which seems to help me taper.

As far as keto, I was eating large amounts of macadamia nuts every day, like 8, 1/4 cup servings quite often. Lots of coconut butter and cocoa. Recently tahini with low carb crackers made out of seeds. I did have flax seed crackers. Also lots of meat. Recently, I started eating dairy too because I was making these cauliflower crust pizzas. The diet became unbalanced for me and I just started eating foods  that felt good eating and not enough vegetable probably.

I'm still going to try to eat as low carb as possible but I'm going to eat a small sweet potato every day and just try to keep fat and meat as low as possible. This is really tough for me. I really do think I might have pancreatic cancer now even though I probably don't. My doctor thinks I may have inflamed my pancreas with the keto diet. I think it is entirely possible because of all the nuts and meats I ate. Once I added some dairy things might of gotten worse.

Also, I had some extreme distress recently and ended up smoking some cigarettes. The upper abdominal pain started a few days after that, then a day or two later the back pain started. I was also doing pancreatic cancer research the entire time before and after these vague symptoms. All I can do is move forward I guess.

Keto stool is unpleasant. All that fat just makes poop smell and float. Mine was always light to medium brown recently and never really dark brown which worried me a bit. It was never pale or grey though which is a sign that something is wrong with the pancreas.

Yeah I can't do keto anymore. I'm tapped out at 5.5 months.

Not sure how many carbs I ate yesterday but it was well above 50g. I ate a small yam again, several raspberries and this grain free cereal that has some dried fruit in it, and also other things with carbs in it. Used my last keto mojo test trip and I registered at 1.2mmol/L. So, I'm eating carbs and still have β-hydroxybutyrate levels that are in the keto range. I don't really understand why. If I was fat adapted I would expect it to be lower as well because your body burns off more ketones which should keep BHB levels at around 0.5mmol/L. Maybe I am, I don't know. My fasting blood glucose was 88mg/dL. Seems good I guess. Maybe I can eat more carbs and still be in ketosis. I seem to be addicted to fat as well. I just couldn't help buy the 1.5lb bag of macadamia nuts at Costco yesterday. I'm going to try only eating 10 at a time from now on and go easy on the tahini. No more gluten free Norwegian crisp bread at Trader Joe's either which has rapeseed oil in it which is basically canola oil. I was smothering tahini all over those and chasing it down with 5 servings of macadamia nuts. It seems no matter what diet I eat I'll always have issues with food. I'm not overweight though. I want to do an extended water fast with some supplements soon but not sure how a person who isn't overweight responds to not eating for long periods of time. For the water fast I have magnesium citrate, potassium citrate and calcium citrate from bulk supplements which I'm going to use for electrolytes as well as apple cider vinegar and Redmond Real salt.

There is small amounts of corn starch in my meds along with other inactive ingredients so I'm not sure how it will affect fasting which is why I want to wait until I'm off everything along with other reasons. I just always feared that doing an extended fast on medication is a bad idea for whatever reason. Does anyone think fasting is a bad idea while still on meds? If I have cancer I'm hoping fasting will slow it from spreading until I can figure out how to treat it. I don't see the GI doctor until mid August so incase something is wrong with me I don't want to feed the cancer which is what I may have been doing the entire time eating all this meat. I can't believe this is all anxiety? People who know me keep telling me that but I don't know what to think. This back pain I have just keeps telling me I have cancer. It just feels like I do. I'm scared.

Pancreatic cancer risks I can think of:

Second degree relative had pancreatic cancer

First degree relative (mom, lung cancer; dad, bladder cancer)

Smoker on and off for 18-19 years

Some alcohol

Drug use: (gabapentin, phenibut, baclofen, buprenorphine, memantine, clonazepam, chlordiazepoxide, kratom;  [bPC-157], various supplements)

Prediabetes

2 abdominal CT scans

severe stress and anxiety

Symptoms:

Upper-left abdominal, mid-left back that gets worse after eating/lying down

Notes: I first noticed occasional upper left abdominal pain some time in ~2018 that felt like it could be related to the pancreas. I read that high dosages of gabapentin was associated with pancreatic cancer in male Wistar rats but not an issue for humans according to the publication, but this combined with my use of BPC-157, a promoter of angiogenesis via VEGF pathway more or less planted the seed of fear because of all the other factors involving risks.

It seems it takes many years for pancreatic cancer to actually go from a precancerous cell to cancer (over 10 years normally) but severe stress accelerates it according to the study below.

So, I want to preface this by saying I went to the ER again yesterday because of my mid back and upper abdominal pain. Ended up getting bloodwork, an ultrasound of my pancreas, gallbladder and liver, and a chest x ray. Everything came out normal. It seems that the back pain gets worse when I do deep breathing, it is in between my shoulder blades. The pain in my back goes to two places: in between the shoulder blades, in the mid-upper region, and also in the mid-left. Every time I go to sleep now the pain will go to the mid-left and the upper-middle region feels alright.....but after waking up the pain will go to the upper-middle region between the shoulder blades after taking some deep breaths now, and it just feels stuck there. Taking more additional deep breaths doesn't seem to change the intensity of the pain in the area. It seems breathing causes pain between the shoulder blades though. I noticed it after trying to run to a little bit.

Some other blood work from my PCP and my fasting triglycerides were 75mg/dL, cholesterol was a little high at 210 or 215, can't remember. Everybody keeps telling me that my numbers are pretty much perfect. So, the ketogenic diet is not affecting my blood work negatively except the high cholesterol which is easy to fix.

So now I think it could be pancreatic or lung cancer because of this and the tumors were too small for those tests to pick them up. The only thing that can convince me is an MRI or CT scan now which isn't so easy to get. Just seems like a red flag to have mid back pain at rest. This pain has been constant for nearly 2 weeks. I don't recall straining myself too and the pain just feels like I have cancer or something is wrong. Could be some type of GI issue too because I've had ulcers in the past. It's always something. I just wanted to finish my taper and this happens to slow me down. The emotions are a mix of intense fear, anger, confusion and sadness. It's really hard to taper when you feel like the only thing you have to look forward to is dying from cancer sooner than later.

Hi Mamoot! What exactly are the potential problems with the ketogenic diet?

Also - I have had a pain in the upper left side of my abdomen for months and months as well. I have been off keto for awhile and it persists...  There’s a lot going on in our solar plexus. There’s a ton of nerves that have most definitely been damaged by our drug use. I don’t belive that we have pancreatic or lung cancer.

But that’s just me.

Hey. I'm not sure if my problems are related to the ketogenic diet but the potential problems are just doing it wrong by eating too much meat and nuts. I can end up eating a pound of macadamia nuts and still stay in ketosis some how but that's another story. Just because your blood ketones are high doesn't mean your body is using them efficiently as fuel though. I'd like to see lower blood ketone levels because it tells me my body favors them as a fuel source. I ate probably 75-100g of carbs yesterday and my blood ketones are 1.1mmol/L. Most days I'm eating a lot of fat still. According to the ultrasound and bloodwork my pancreas is digesting fats though.

I may just have a really bad stomach ulcer. It could have even breached the posterior region and is causing back pain. Today I laid in bed this morning with this diabolical gnawing sensation that feels better when I put something in my stomach. I've had stomach ulcers before when my mom was getting chemo. My dad has bladder cancer and I started getting the stomach pains a few days before he had surgery. Also, the back pain started the day after we put my dog asleep which has devastated me. I need to get another puppy now or I think my depression will just consume me. My dad also just needs another dog because he doesn't care about himself. He rarely bathes. He hasn't cut his hair since my mom passed nearly 5 years ago. He needs something to take care of in order to exist and I can see him spiraling since the dog has been gone and it really isn't helping all this.

My maternal grandmother had pancreatic cancer and my mom had lung cancer which is why I'm so obsessed about those diseases. My back pain between the shoulder blades seems related to breathing. I can't seem to breath right from tapering gabapentin. It's like my breaths are shallow. All the hyperventilating and shallow breaths while exercising may have made my back muscles soar? Because when I walk I get anxious and don't breath well. This morning my stomach pain is really bad which makes me think this is probably an ulcer just because of the gnawing sensation. I've been struggling so much trying to get off the rest of the gabapentin that I can't  heal it. I'm just not thinking it's an ulcer most of the time because I'm just so focused on cancer. I drink coffee, eat dark chocolate...I'm drinking apple cider vinegar....always taking stuff on an empty stomach....it' going to be hard to heal this. I want to start drinking cabbage juice but it is loaded with glutamine. It turns out glutamine and glucose are the main fuel sources for cancer cells. I'm trying to keep those down to a minimum but I need some relief.

Now that I'm almost done with gabapentin coming off the rest of that phenibut is going to be horrendous if I can't improve my current situation.

If you are sure your bloods were fine and your doc said wait til August I think cancer is unlikely, but it’s your docs call.

If you have chronic gastritis pain then get yourself on a regular antacid surely?

Hope you are better by now anyways

Hey, not sure what this is. I've been drinking red cabbage juice for about 4 days but I'm not sure how it is affecting the symptoms which are mostly upper abdominal pain and some mid back pain in two locations. I managed to get an earlier appointment (June 4th) for the GI by persistently calling. Thing with pancreatic cancer, it doesn't show up in blood work depending on the location of the tumor and how advanced it is. I did get an abdominal ultrasound but it misses smaller tumors and I did it at an ER which may of not looked close enough. Every night a lay in bed now contemplating life with pancreatic cancer thinking my days are numbered wondering how I should approach things. I have all sorts of ideas but they are not the best. Everybody says cancer is unlikely though. Hope everybody is right.

Let’s trust it just referred pain from gastritis or a duodenal ulcer.

Best wishes for the 4 June

I noticed something with my blood work from my last ER visit on 5/21. My serum lipase levels were 224 U/L and the hospitals reference range was (73-393).

My ER visit on 5/8, lipase levels were 46 U/L based on a reference range of (8-78).

I'm really confused by the different reference ranges. Anything over 160 U/L for lipase levels is beyond normal for most labs from what Google is saying.

The day my lipase was 224 U/L I do remember over indulging in macadamia nuts to the extreme. I also ate other high fat foods. I went to the hospital on 5/8 fasted I think.

I don't know what to think but it seems having elevated levels of ketones in your blood raises your lipase levels. Starting to wonder if keto is the cause of my problem again. Not sure how it relates to cancer or my pancreas anymore.

I just realized I ate too much fat and went well beyond what was needed in fat calories to do keto. I started eating alot of flax seed crackers, tahini, macadamia nuts and now this grain free nut granola.  What did me in was those macadamia nuts because I couldn't stop eating them. I need to just eat differently temporarily until I feel better. Maybe just eliminate fat for a while.

The result were normal surely in spite of your diet.  Or the hospital would have got you in.

Lipase range levels in the uk vary as well. It’s a very blunt test. In pancreas issues it’s often over 500.

Try to chill

Mamoot, as I understand it, the smaller the polyp, the less chance they are malignant. Polyps smaller than 1cm in diameter carry a less than 1% chance of cancer. I believe ultrasound can detect these accurately. If they couldn't find any polyps, it's fairly unlikely there is a malignancy there.

It's also unlikely it's pancreatic cancer, since most people are asymptomatic until the malignancy is quite large. So if it was giving you symptoms they likely would have seen it at the hospital.

In Chinese Medicine I would suspect gallbladder. Too much fat, you’re right I’m pretty sure. Try eating limes and lemons.

Salsa fresca, things like this...

Onions

Greens (beet especially)

Garlic

Should help break down fat

Appreciate the support everyone. My thinking the pain is pancreatic in origin because of the location in the left upper quadrant and how it goes to the mid back and gets worse after eating fat, lying down, at night but other than that no other symptoms. Abdominal ultrasounds will only detect tumors 2cm or greater and it also depends on the skill of the technician. There are also issues with gas bubbles that can effect the outcome of getting a clear ultrasound. I didn't eat for about 6-7 hours before I did the test and the technician told me to hold my breath while she captured images. She seemed like she knew what she was doing. Also, tumors in the body or tail of the pancreas may be harder to see in an ultrasound from something I read. I'm also thinking it's the body or tail because the tail of the pancreas lies in that left upper quadrant region of the abdomen. I also did read the only early symptoms of pancreatic cancer are stomach and back pain, which are vague symptoms that most people ignore.

I understand that I probably don't have cancer, that would actually sort of surprise me but it still doesn't change the fact that something is up with my pancreas. This isn't little pain either it is really debilitating and making me quite miserable. I can only hope it is all related to diet and that changing my diet will make it go away and there isn't anything else going on. Maybe some inflammation of the pancreas from being overworked from digesting fats.

There's something else. While tapering benzos a few years ago I almost took that trip to Belize but before I could board the boat I got a text message from my sister saying she had a crazy dream about me. A strange thing was, the moment I heard my phone vibrate I was literally about to do it. I felt time stop for a second as if I went to a parallel reality and a new continuum now existed. I get this feeling like I cheated death and now it's coming after me too. It's like I'm being tested or something. Hopefully, I'm just imagining things.

Edit: more stuff I'm noticing, high fibrous foods go undigested. I can always see pieces of macadamia nuts in my stool. I'm noticing mushroom slices too because I ate shiitake mushroom yesterday. Not sure how much of those mushrooms I'm digesting. I did eat pretty quickly yesterday and I'm pretty nervous.

I started reading more and it says that having a gastric ulcer increases your risk of pancreatic cancer significantly. I had gastric and duodenal ulcers in 2013-2014. The hits just keep fucking coming! I'm so sick of this shit. I have all these risk factors. The more I read the more I discover. The emotional distress I've experience these past 5 years is on a level that very few people can understand outside this forum. I just think it caused all of this.

ReEdit: So, I started noticing that the pain gets worse when my stomach is empty. Eating has the potential to sooth the pain as well as make it worse. I think fatty greasy foods make it worse. Guacamole may make it worse too but I did have lime juice in it. Also, the back pain started on 5/9/19 suddenly there was no gradual onset with that. The pain in the upper left quadrant basically happened suddenly a few days before the back pain but I noticed a mild discomfort in that same spot here and there since 2018. Neoplasms are associated with pain with a gradual onset so I'm not really sure. Looks like I'm back on team ulcer for now. Going to try and get some sleep. Maybe the wheels just came off when I tapered off gabapentin this month. After I noticed the WD wasn't a problem I tapered very quick for what I was used to. Maybe I paid the price.

I saw the GI doctor yesterday. He scheduled an abdominal CT scan for the 19th and also prescribed some Omeprazole to take in case I have ulcers. He said he wanted to wait before scheduling an endoscopy and that he would just prescribe Omeprazole anyways if I had ulcers and to just take it. I might just take this drug even though I don't want to too because the pain is can be debilitating. I was in severe pain this morning and ended up drinking some raw, red cabbage juice and felt pretty much immediate relief. I gave up drinking any cabbage juice because I thought it wasn't really helping after drinking it for 4-5 days but I felt initial relief from it before too. I'm going to just keep drinking it, I also have some sauerkraut that I'm going to eat before meals. I may add the omeprazole too. I fucked up and spiked the phenibut 500mg. I'm taking 1g of phenibut and 10mg of baclofen right now. I plan to just switch to 20mg of baclofen daily soon and just stop using phenibut possibly because I'm tired of running out of it and having to buy more. I don't know yet. Coming off the last 600mg gabapentin in 5 weeks has possibly messed up my stomach. I didn't feel much WD because I was in the zone mentally but it was destroying me. After coming off the last of it I've been living inside a pressure cooker with severe hypochondria and severe stomach pain. Every time my abdomen starts hurting and my back I just keep thinking pancreatic cancer. I can't help it because of the location of the pain. The duodenum rests around the pancreas. Maybe I have an ulcer in my duodenum near the pancreas and it is causing these nightmarish symptoms. I wanted to do an MRI to avoid another abdominal CT scan because I've had 2 of them around 5 years ago but the GI doctor said the risk of getting cancer from a CT scan pales in comparison to smoking cigarettes and just the fact that 1 out of 4 men will get some type of cancer in there lifetime. I'm going to do the scan as a precaution because if there is something there I need to find it, even though pancreatic cancer, no matter which stage it is is pretty much a death sentence. My biggest fear is not having the right mind set to fight this battle right now. I'm not ready for cancer. I never healed mentally from tapering these drugs.

I made a new appointment to see a psychiatrist. There is a two month wait I think though. I need to just cover my bases because these MD's keep telling me I'm headed toward something bad. I don't want to start new medications but I have to do something. I'm still using drugs that I buy off the internet. I'm using an old supply of tianeptine sodium at around 50-100mg a day, I haven't even kept track of how much I've been taking recently. I using around up to 10g of kratom a day. I've been using these old modafinil pills I had laying around. Mentally I'm in a bad place. I hope the tianeptine doesn't mess up my blood work because it is pretty toxic to the liver in high dosages from what I know about it. Starting kratom was a bad idea. I'm on tianeptine now too which affect opioid receptors. I crave harder opioids all the time now. Ever since coming off gabapentin I think about doing heroin everyday. I'm so stressed out from everything that is happening I can't help it. I need help.

Mamoot, gut health could relieve a lot of pain. “Gut health” sounds wrong, but you know what I mean... microbiome.

I’m not an expert and I’m still haven’t tried really doing it but look at Donna Gates on YouTube. She has a book I have and I’m going to get it off the shelf now; “The Body Ecology Diet.”

These short couple of sentences are all I have to offer, they come from a good place.

I’m going to try taking a break from posting again, but the cabbage... in all of that the cabbage juice stands out as the most promising report.

Mamoot, are you still doing kratom? I was having a lot of the same symptoms you are experiencing (minus the fat issues, I'm WFPB, mostly), and it turned out that kratom was the culprit. When I detoxed off it (and yes, it is addictive, and yes, there will be WD sxs), all the symptoms went bye-bye in about a week. Don't know what I'm going to do with the kilo of Red Bali I have sitting in the cabinet. I'm afraid to touch it, for fear of a wave. Had a wave due to a chocolate bar, and now I'm extra uber careful of what I shove in the ol' pie hole.

Wow thanks, that makes a whole lot of sense because I was wondering if the kratom can cause ulcers. I've been tossing and washing it down with water. I need to start making a tea or smoothie from now on. I'm also eating matcha green tea powder on an empty stomach in the morning. Lately I've been chasing it down with aloe vera juice. But throughout the day I keep taking kratom on an empty stomach and all these drugs I take on an empty stomach. I probably have severe ulcers. No wonder I thought the cabbage juice wasn't helping enough.

Didn't give me ulcers, I don't think (felt like it, though), but it did cause a shitload (no pun intended) of GI issues for me. I was afraid I was dying at one point. I detoxed off the kratom before tackling the K and the Z.

Have you ever had stomach ulcers Mayavata? I did a search related to kratom and stomach ulcers and a few things did come up that make me think it is possible.

https://drugs-forum.com/threads/kratom-and-stomach-problems.152523/

I was using kratom all throughout the day too reducing often on an empty stomach. I was also ingesting matcha green tea powder on an empty stomach too in the morning and often putting them in capsules. I take other drugs and supplements on an empty stomach as well and with food. The problem is I'm always taking something, it's a struggle. I have issues with stimulants like caffeine, coca tea, and harder substances if they are around. I've been taking modafinil recently but that is going to end pretty soon because I'm down to the last 200mg. Despite having a sensitive CNS I still can't help myself due to the extreme depression and lack of motivation that I have which is why I enjoyed taking kratom. I have pain in the middle of my back right now this morning and this burning sensation in my throat and chest where my heart is.

Since I stopped keto a few days ago I've been losing more weight too which is starting to bother me. I am eating super clean though. I bought a bag of sprouted rolled oats and have been eating oatmeal as a first meal with strawberry slices. I did buy a few yams. These past few days I've been eating some lean Canadian bacon and scrambled eggs as a protein source. I ate some grain free granola too. I'm not counting calories but I think I'm eating enough. I did not eat any meat for several days in a row last week. Just all the stress and the extreme stomach pain is making me scared to eat. I'm about 157-158lbs. I've lost around 15-20lbs since starting keto back in Dec. 2018 I think. I think keto just causes extreme weight loss though which is why it became such a popular diet. It really helps withdrawing from meds though and it made me feel amazing which is why I kept doing it. I'm not sure how it has affected my health because of all the other variables. My blood work has been basically perfect since doing it though with the exception of borderline high cholesterol levels which I attribute to eating too much meat. It is pretty normal to have high cholesterol while doing keto I think.

One thing I keep noticing since coming off keto is I have ketones in my blood after waking up. I just checked and my blood ketone were 1.2mmol/L after not eating for 10 hours. My blood glucose levels were 103mg/dL and 98mg/dL. I took my blood glucose levels twice. I wasn't happy about that. Just seems kind of high and possibly prediabetes. Also, you are not supposed to check your blood sugar right after eating but I did compulsively after reintroducing lots of carbs. I ate around 70g of these rolled oats which was around 2 servings when I first reintroduced carbs and took my blood sugar 10-15 minutes after eating and it was 201mg/dL. A few hours after eating it was around 113mg/dL. I'm not sure if this is normal but I'm assuming it probably is. I just don't understand why I'm still registering as many ketones as I am though. Other than that, when I was doing keto I ate nuts all the time. I always had lots of undigested bits of macadamia nuts in my stool. There was undigested fat in my stool as well. I still have issues with having undigested fat in my stool possibly.

As a matter of fact, I have had stomach ulcers. Still have a peptic ulcer. Only gets aggravated now days if I overdo it on the beer/scotch. There's only a few supplements I'll take on an empty stomach. The rest, well, taking with food in my stomach might not do much for the efficacy, but at least my guts aren't in agony all the time. I haven't touched alcohol since three weeks before I started CT on the benzos/Z-drugs.

At my age, I wouldn't touch the keto diet with a ten foot pole. I do whole foods plant based, a la Dr. Greger and nutritionfacts.org. Yeah, I cheat every so often with a little portion of meat/eggs (absolutely NO dairy), but adhere to it for the most part. Dr. Greger wrote a book, "How Not to Die", and at least has the grace to point out when the studies he's citing have a conflict of interest. More than I can say for the people who simply say, "studies show..." If you can't cite the study, and who exactly sponsored it, and what the possible conflicts of interest are, then I'm just not interested.

Many of the studies dissing soy, grains, beans, etc, are put out/sponsored wholly or in part by Big Meat, Dairy, Sugar (rarely, mostly if it has to do with diabetes), and the Egg Board, who, coincidentally, also sponsor a lot of the studies that find in favor of the keto and paleo diets. Dr. Greger has done a number of short videos on that. Always check who has sponsored studies before you buy into them. Too many of these so-called "scientists" have direct ties with conflicts of interest. I'll give you that keto probably helps people who are having bad sxs, but I'd sure get off of it once the sxs abate.

I eat meat, but very little of it, as I have found it causes inflammation to various parts of my anatomy.

Thanks for sharing. I never feel satisfied unless I eat meat several days a week. That CT scan my doctor ordered is with contrast and without. According to what I read that's at least 20 mSv of radiation. I already had two abdominal CT scans 5 years ago in the ER which probably equal out to around 10-14 mSv each. This just seems too risky at this point. Like the odds of me having cancer don't justify the risks of getting this CT scan. I don't understand why the man wouldn't just give me an MRI. I asked him for one and explained that I didn't want to get abdominal CT scans because of the radiation risks. Not sure what to do here. I'm probably going to push back the appointment for this scan because I don't want to do it now. Maybe wait for these symptoms to get worse before I consider this stupid scan. I can't just get abdominal CT scans every time I get weird pains that possibly could be cancer. Fuck that.
