Link between anxiety and hormones?

Does anyone know how hormones effect anxiety? My birth control brought me to panic attacks. I got it removed and the mix between Xanax withdrawal and hormone withdrawal messed me up. My cycle comes now whenever it wants it lasts 1 day and I’m LACTATING. I’m not pregnant at all. I’ve been to the GYN doctor and they keep saying nothing is wrong with me. I fail to believe that. Does anyone have an article they can send me that explains how hormones affect the brain or something?
