To answer your question, I don't know if I need a dose increase personally. I was really low in my taper and updoses always felt really toxic to me. If I updose, I just end up taking activated charcoal because I get strange sensations. I'm not sure if the new one eliminates anxiety because that's never been why I have taken it. I mean, at first it seems to make me calmer but then hours later it backfires and does the opposite, and causes panic. That's why the first night I took it, I thought it was working. Then I realized later that night and the next day that it wasn't. I know that must sound confusing.

I am so sorry to hear that many BenzoBuddies are suffering because of the new Teva formulation.  Sending hugs to all.

When opening a new script bottle of Clonazepam this morning, I was surprised to find that it is Teva .5 mg, not the expected Actavis.  Just to let everyone know, I live in Essex County, Massachusetts, and filled the script yesterday at CVS.  This might mean that others will start to be getting the .5 mgs. as well as the 1 mgs? Thought I'd put this out there.

Haven't tried them yet; planning to start tapering in November (partial DLMT), but a bit scared to start, knowing that the new Tevas are now here, with a different formulation than the tried and true old Teva.

Sending my best to all. :smitten:

Clara-I appreciate you sharing your experiences with us. This is a safe place where we all can go. Glad to hear that the person in the last post just got the new Tevas. Do you mind posting your reaction (eg in terms of sleep and control of anxiety?)

Old Tevas had fabulous muscle relaxant, anti anxiety and sedative properties for me. Just got a script filled with TEva 1mg odt-not bad but my sleep was off and so was my short term memory. Best to all of us...we’ll figure this out, one way or another

Thank you so much for sharing this information with the community, GG.  This is very interesting.  Would you be willing to share the NDC (National Drug Code) on the label of your pill bottle? That way, we can look up the drug information pamphlet on DailyMed to see what the ingredients are compared to Actavis (fyi Teva owns Actavis).

It wasn’t all that long ago I had no idea what an NDC was.  I had to look it up! In case anyone reading this thread also wants to learn more about NDCs, here’s an overview:

Each listed drug product is assigned a unique 10-digit, 3-segment number. This number, known as the NDC, identifies the labeler, product, and trade package size. The first segment, the labeler code, is assigned by the FDA. A labeler is any firm that manufactures (including repackers or relabelers), or distributes (under its own name) the drug. The second segment, the product code, identifies a specific strength, dosage form, and formulation of a drug for a particular firm. Different formulations or different strengths of the same formulation should be assigned different product codes. This means even if the same formulations of a drug product ultimately deliver different strengths of the active ingredient to the recipient, they should be assigned different product codes. Also, drug products that share the same formulation but have different product characteristics that clearly distinguish one drug product version from another can not share the same product code under the same labeler code. The third segment, the package code, identifies package sizes and types. Different package codes only differentiate between different quantitative and qualitative attributes of the product packaging. Both the product and package codes are assigned by the firm.

I'm going to have my doctor give me a one day px for the .5mg because they are now available near me. Then I can see if they are any different. I wonder if the .5mg are unscored as well.

Just to clarify, the Teva  .5s I have ARE scored, yellow, and appear to look just like the original Teva pills.

Thanks, Libertas, for the info. on NDC Codes.  Unfortunately, I do not see one on the bottle :idiot:  It does identify as "This is a yellow round shaped tablet imprinted with TEVA on the front and 832 on the back."  I'm staring right at it, and there is no NDC Code.  I'll go through the trash to look for the outer package info. that came with it and report back.

So sorry- I wish I could find the NDC Code for everyone! If I called the pharmacy, would they relay that info. to me?

I found the NDC # for the Teva .5 mgs on the accompanying information that came with the bottle.

NDC:  00093-0832-05

Hope this helps! :smitten:

You rock, GG!  I’m off to investigate and will report back.

Interesting, according to the drug label for this NDC, these tabs were manufactured in Israel.  HOWEVER, the last time this info was updated was October 1, 2017.  So this info may or may not be correct.  The only way to tell would be to ask the pharmacist to check the label on the bottle used to fill the prescription.

I just talked to a medical specialist at teva. So the.5mg are made in Israel and are scored, made exactly on the same equipment and the same way as the old!!! I'm getting rid of these nasty 1mg Czech republic ones and switching to the .5mg immediately. I knew there was something wrong with these damn pills.

Thanks Mary.. I'm taking my dose early, right now. The new .5mg pills look exactly like they used to and they are harder, not crumbly, just like they used to be.  Let's hope this works!!!!

That's good to hear the 0.5's are made in Israel and have the proper appearance.

Hoping for the best so you can get back to feeling a bit better.

So weird that they would score the .5mg and not the 1mg. I wonder if the .5mg are made in Czech republic as well!

That's how brand Roche are as well, the 1mg's are not scored but the 0.5's are.  I guess they aren't confident of the dispersal enough in the 1mg pills, so they try to discourage cutting.

So far so good on these. With the 1mg, I would be in a heavy agony with a brain pulling sensation already and severe depression and feeling of doom. The .5mg actually makes me feel good, lighthearted, muscles have more energy. I'm not trying to speak too soon but I know already that these are pretty much the same as the old ones. It has a huge burst of minty feeling in my throat that I remember. They smell way different than the 1mg, a fresher, better smell. I really hope this continues through the night. The way it metabolizes will be the true test. But I would not recommend even trying the 1mg at all. They are AWFUL. wait for the .5mg!!!

That is such good news Clara and I swear with no one realizing they were going to have .05, almost a damn miracle  :D

It is a miracle. I'm not even religious and I was praying for a miracle yesterday, praying to anything that would hear me because I couldn't imagine continuing life on the poisonous 1mg pills. They were literally killing me. Next day gumby girl saves my life by saying those .5mg pills were scored so i knew there was something different. I called my location CVS and they only had the .5mg. . My psychiatrist answered the phone before he left at 5pm and sent the script over right away. everything about this was a miracle.

Now that the old Teva is truly back in .5mg, I do have a fear that it won't remain this way. I still need to get off klonopin as soon as possible. If you read this article about what Teva is doing with their manufacturing, you will see my concern. I don't want to get used to this pill only to have it moved to Czech republic and ruined just like the 1mg. I'm going to keep in touch with Teva to tell them about this whole phenomenon with the pills.

Hey great news, I'm glad for you!  Let's hope it continues is right.

Teva really need to get their act together on consistency, and bring those 1mg pills back to Israel.  There's no way that the same drug from the same manufacturer should be acting so differently.  I fear you're right and it has to do with their cost cutting measures in that article you linked.  Let's hope the 0.5's work ok for all, and they don't screw them up before everyone is able to get off safely.

If brand doesn't work out for me, I'm hoping I can get a new rx from my doc and find those 0.5's locally to try.  I don't really feel like playing ping pong with my brain, but what choice is there.
