I forgot to say so, but I LOVE the poem you shared..."I Am Not Old".  I was close to my grandparents when I was young and I have always had a soft spot in my heart for the elderly.  They truly are a treasure!  It was your poem that caused me to remember "The Old Lady" poem that I shared.

I have a great deal of respect for the elderly as well. They hold values, wisdom and an understanding of the deeper meaning of life. They must be respected as they have earned that right.

This year we have mourning doves coming to our bird feeder that is right on a kitchen window.  Everyday there is such amazing beauty that is close enough to reach out and touch. 

 

It is one more chance to receive the gifts that are all around us.  I find things like this so helpful for bringing a little joy and a sense of peace to my days.

 

I hope you are finding some things to lift you in your days, too.  Sending you my best hopes for that.
