Hi everyone,

Wow, Rodolfo, that's great! Congrats.

Sorry for all of you, who still have poor sleep. There's always another night with the chance of better sleep.

I just read a wonderful quote to help us holding on:

The comeback will be stronger than the setback.

I haven't been tapering my Diazepam for a couple of days now, while taking it much easier on the exercise, and I 'm starting to feel better again. Less pain. Sleep is improving as well. So, in my case, the tip you gave me, seems to be working, nightengale.

Hope you all slept better.

Stay strong. Stay safe.

TS

Good day everyone, last night I slept for four hours straight. That's a first in a long, long time. I may have slept another hour after that. There was a time when I was so aware of when I slept and when I didn't, but that has changed some.

Anyway, in light of the worsening pandemic, I plan on heading to the grocery store today.  I would rather we keep on with the new normal of wearing masks and washing our hands, but the fairly new governor wants to start shutting everything down again.  Businesses, schools/universities, and churches cannot survive much longer.

TS, that is good news you are feeling better.  Stay strong.

Your quote was very meaningful, thanks for sharing!

Kachinabirdsong, I wish people could donate sleep hours too.  Ahh well, the good thoughts do brighten my day. Thanks!

Rodolfo, 9 hours is amazing! Congratulations!

Hi nightengale,

Glad you got some more decent sleep! Let's hope it will continue to get better.

My sleep is more or less ok, but lately I 've been waking up earlier again because of increased muscle and joint pain. Uhhg! I think it's to do with the colder weather with lots of showers. Damp and colder weather like this is bad for my Fibromyalgia. Today I didn't go for a walk outside. Thigh muscles to stiff and painful. Watching tv and doing a bit of reading.

Wishing us all better days and nights.

TS

Nightengale, congrats on your sleep, wish you more!!

TS, yes, me too, the pain and my thighs hurt a lot ... fibro and the weather and cold, I hear you. I HATE saying goodbye to warm weather.

For the time being, I am getting more sleep when I first nod off. Four hours, then three for the last two nights. I am happy with that. Falling asleep after I wake up, is still problematic.  Sometimes self hypnosis helps as well as some relaxing deep breathing...sometimes, but not always. I'm probably getting around 4-5 hours, perhaps a bit more.

I have an appointment with my hand specialist to see if I can have another shot in my wrist. If not, I will let him do surgery on it. Not sure how this will work, as I can't drive myself to the hospital  and back home again.

My husband awoke with a sore throat this morning, then proceeded to sneeze all over me. ha

This is how he has always been, even before the alzheimer's took over his brain.

Hopefully he does not have covid.

TS, I hope the cold, damp weather has lessened and your muscle and joint pain is less. My legs and muscles have stiffened up along with the cold and snow we had last week. Several mornings we awoke to 8 degrees F, which is so out of the ordinary for October.

KachinaBirdsong, thanks for the good wishes.  I am sending good wishes your way, also!

Shayna, I hope you are doing okay?

Hang in there everyone,

NG

Hang in there Shayna. I was doing pretty good with the sleep but last night was a complete disaster. I think I got maybe 2.5 hours. I am hoping for a better tonight. Ugh! Hello everyone....just checking in from time to time. I am trying to limit all my screentime to about 2 hours per day max.

Hi everyone, I am sick. Not sure what I have, but it doesn't seem to be the corona virus.

I'm not coughing nor do I have a stuffy nose.

Not sure what is going on.

Our son has had a cold and came a couple of weeks ago to drain our sprinkler system. He didn't have any symptoms until a couple of days after he was here.

He did stay awhile to visit, but kept his distance.

My husband is feeling okay after waking up with a sore throat yesterday.

Hi everyone,

Sorry if your sleep was not ok. Glad for those of you that did have decent sleep. There's no sense to be found in how we feel or sleep. No two days are the same, right?

Nightengale,  I hope you'll get well again soon!

Wishing us all a good weekend.

Stay strong!

Thank you NG and TS, yes STAY STRONG ... one day at a time is all we have to get through and then one night of course and the day is sooo much harder if we didn't sleep "enough". Enough changes though doesn't it???

SO sorry for those not sleeping. It is different every night. I'm just starting my taper ... we shall see. I mean I know I'm sleeping because I take Ambien at night, 5 weeks in and 1.5mg down on Ambien. BUT am DOWN and OFF meds. That is GOOD.

Hi all, my sleep was quite good last night. I even dozed off on the sofa earlier.

My wrist has become so painful that I've re-scheduled an appointment with the hand specialist. I am ready for him to do the surgery on it. Well, as ready as can as I will ever be. The physical therapy is not helping.

I also found out today that I have a basal cell carcinoma on not quite the tip of my nose. I go in for a mohs surgery 12/1.

My legs feel like a train wreck.

I'm not sure what is going on, but here I am.

KachinaBirdsong, I wish you so many good thoughts on your taper journey. We are behind you all of the way.  I may not always comment, but you are never far from my thoughts.

I love your horse picture. I grew up riding horses and had a total of five at different times. They were such an important part of my life. Now my 11 year old granddaughter us following in my footsteps.

TS I agree, no two days are the same. I just keep going hoping the good days outweigh the not so good ones.

Shayna it was bad in the beginning, but as time goes on, my brain seems to be trying to heal, so that's good.

I've lost hope, then I've found it, lost it and found it, again. I just keep remembering that I am off of the drugs and healing.

Hello nightengale,

So sorry to hear you're having all of those physical issues. I hope you're going to feel better again soon.

Sometimes it seems we just can't get a break, right? It makes it hard to stay positive and keep hoping for better times to come. We just won't give up, though!

Thankfully my Fibromyalgia pain is much less again. The weather has improved quite a bit. It's now sunny and dry with hardly any wind , but a little colder. Quite nice for a walk or a bike ride. Started to taper again too, but gently.

Hoping we may all see a little improvement every day!

TS

Stay safe!

Shanyna, so sorry you're going through this. I feel for you, it becomes so huge---insomnia--dreading facing another night. Your body needs a rest. I hope you find something to help more asap. Keep on, hugs.

Good morning all, my sleep was the usual hour to start with, then awake for three hours, then asleep for another hour, back to sleep and another hour.

Meh..

I listened to some sleep hypnosis on you tube, which didn't work, so turned that off and read some more.  I know we are supposed to not care, but that's not easy to do.

TS, that is great the fibromyalgia pain is less, again. The improved weather is also a plus.  I'm glad you are getting out for walks and bike rides.

The gentle taper is the way to go.

Stay strong.

Hi all, I hope everyone is doing okay. It's a beautiful day here, but snow and rain are moving in tonight.

Not much sleep this week and yesterday my legs were killing me and I was barely able to walk.  I got up early, did my 30 minute walk with no problems.

My husband was out blowing up the leaves in the back yard. He also used the mower. He has such severe OCD that he has to be constantly doing something.

Anyway, I kept an eye on him as the day progressed.  When it was time to feed the dog her 4:00 pm meal, I did that and noticed she was not in the house.

As I walked outside to call her in, I had a sinking feeling the two backyard gates were open and they were. My husband had the leaf blower going near the wide open gate.  I walked through the gate and saw the second gate was propped open. My heart sank.  I ran out front and no dog. I looked up and down the street and called her name. She was not to be seen.

As I ran back into the back yard, I saw the dog coming around from the west side of the house, still in the back yard. She had not wandered off like she had done a year or so ago.

Anyway, I am guessing that my leg issues were from the shock of the dog being gone. She is 14 years old and hard of hearing. She takes daily meds for past corneal ulcers, so has some things going on that need to be addressed. Anyway, after that ordeal, I opened the front door to check for packages and the door handle broke off. Good grief..I texted our son who now lives 45 mins away instead of 5 mins and he drove over.  It was when we went to Home Depot to get a new door handle, that my legs started bothering me.

Oh well, I am still waking the planet.

NG, I'm sooo glad your dog stayed nearby!! That's funny about the door handle, I had a day like that Friday...

So helpful to see people here talking about the pain being a response to stress and activity--over stimulation of the CNS. I've been experiencing that for years but didn't know why.

I'm feeling very fortunate that I'm sleeping well. I agree, not easy to not care about disrupted sleep. But ready to go down on my taper which scares me

BUT we're getting FREE of these meds. Sun is coming out today!

Good grief, I typed for 20 minutes and the message just disappeared.

Kachina, I couldn't believe my eyes that the dog had not wandered off like last year when my husband left both gates open. A couple in the next block found her and drove her to the vet up the street to see if the dog was chipped. She was. The girls behind the desk recognized Brinna. We were lucky someone who cared found her and wanted to get her back home again.

Our son is going to get some electronic gate guards and install them, so I will be alerted when my husband opens the gates.

It is so stressful and challenging living with someone who has Alzheimer's.

I am glad you are sleeping well. Tapering is stressful, but you will get there.  I remember joining this forum  about a month into my taper. It really did keep me going. Finding this very large group was a major milestone in my quest to get off of those drugs.  We are not alone nor we ever far from people who understand.

Take care,

NG
