My PDoc Doesn't know How to Do a Klononopin Taper

And she is letting me direct it more or less. She said she would do a cross taper to Valium. I'm taking 1.5 mg of klonopin and am supposed ti cut down to 1.25 in a month. When Should I start the cross taper or should I even do it and just cut down by .25 mg of klonopin per monthe until finished. I have insomnia from my taper. Does this mean I'm going to fast?

Welcome to BB, sounds good your doc will let you call the shots on your taper.  I'd check out some info here on BB before I taper, as when I got here, I knew nothing about the taper methods, and how much might be best for me to taper.  I was tapering too much before I got here, so now, going at it much slower.

It should, ideally, take time to cross over to the Valium. I'm not sure what that looks like and the more experienced folks can probably weigh in. Search the forum posts and see what you can find. Since your doc is amenable, take it slow. Wishing you the best.
