Previous back surgery site problems?

Did anyone who had surgery on spine have the site tighten horribly and cause terrible pain and muscle spasm/contracture  when in withdrawal?

Also anyone with spinal arthritis and vertebra that have fused have issues around those sites that have eased?

Did it ease?

In Ashtons manual you can read that all "weak" areas in the body are most effected by Benzo. Long-term use of benzodiazepines can give rise to many unwanted effects,

including even more physical symptoms. Furthermore, the evidence suggests that benzodiazepines are no longer effective after a few weeks or months of regular use. They

lose much of their efficacy because of the development of tolerance. When tolerance develops, "withdrawal" symptoms can appear even though the user continues to take the

drug. Thus the symptoms suffered by many long-term users are a mixture of adverse effects of the drugs and "withdrawal" effects due to tolerance. In addition, clinical

experience shows that most long-term benzodiazepine users actually feel better after coming off the drugs".

I know, you have much pain, and I hope that you feel better soon!

Thanks!

I have been on the Benzos since the surgery and never had the problem zi am now having at surgical site.

It is literally bending the vertebra back and pulling my sacrum back and up.

I used to take it in morning and at night and never noticed it wearing off.

When was first off in 2017 the whole right side contracted including abs, external oblique, buttocks and all back muscles which is what it was doing prior to surgery.

A recent X-ray shows that the surgical site is now actually bending backwards.

The whole 20 years Iwas on the Benzos I had tightness in mid back where now know two vertebra have fused and in upper thoracic where there is also fusion.

Also had pelvic prolapse due to WD which could be adding to sacrum problems.

It is hard to describe how bad it is.it is not just pain it is that since the contracture/dystonia started at end of 2017 muscles now can’t let go properly. They were able to again when reinstated in March 2018 but are now stuck in this contracted position.

Updosing eases the areas where there is actual damage but now only lasts for a few hours.

There is no way I can get off unless I can find something else  to help as it is literally forcing vertebra further out of alignment and making fused areas worse.

I also had TMJ prior to ME, spinal injury and Benzos and jawis so tight it snaps shit if O open mouth and pulls right up in to temporalis.

My upper abdominal muscles where back is tight and there is fusion is sotoght it is crushing my stomach and effecting digestion.

There is no position that is remotely bearable without the Benzos which my brain now hates.

If it was just pain I would take pain meds but it is the severe fixed contracture of the muscles for which I was put on the Benzos in the first place.

I haveeven tried Dantrolene which is a horrible drug.

Tizanidine helps a bit but only lasts a couple of hours and Iam concerned that would prevent healing as one of it’s mechanisms is to block NMDA receptors.

I wish I could talk to you.

Ajusta: It is difficult to understand your problems, as the biggest problem here is to quit Benzo.

Do you have contact with any forum, where the members have the same problems you have?

Spine health forum no help.

No physio or any of the other specialists I have seen in 21 years has been able to work it out.

Spinal surgeon says nothing can be done surgically and go back to Neuro.

Neuro has tried all other muscle relaxants and Botox - nothing has helped.

Waiting for appointment with different spinal specialist but Dr fucked letter up. Been waiting a year so far.
