The title of this study is "Reflection of socio-economic changes in wastewater: licit and illicit drug use patterns". Apparently, there was an increase in the use of "psychoactive drugs" between 2010 and 2014 in the Athens area, which "directly reflects the perceived increase of incidences associated with mental illnesses in the population, as a consequence of severe socio-economic changes."

This shows what happens to a coddled society when a socialist government finally goes bankrupt and can no longer provide free stuff.  Very traumatic for the population.  It's like taking a baby bottle away from an infant.  This would be true also for Venezuela, although in Venezuela the population (in a state of near revolt currently) are not even able to obtain medications.  But it does raise a question.  Can popular uprisings be prevented by issuing tranquilizing drugs en masse to a population?
