Geriatric study in Spain 2015: "Inappropriate prescribing..."

Benzodiazepines are often referred to as "potentially inappropriate medicines/medications", or PIMs, in medical studies. This particular study from Spain looks at inappropriate prescriptions and prescription omissions for elderly patients admitted to hospitals. Of course, benzos are the main medications of concern due to their association with falls. The elderly are obviously among the most vulnerable when it comes to medication risks.
