ODT Klonopin tablets - ok to shave?

I have been shaving these as part of my taper. I just read on this site that these should not be split. Is this true? If so, why?

They are much easier to split than the hard pills, which is why I asked for them (also because they come in a smaller 0.25 mg dose).

This is what I found online, supposedly written by a pharmacist:

"Yes, Klonopin (clonazepam) ODT tablets/wafers can safely be cut or split in half. Ideally, you should only split the tablets with a pill cutter and not your hands. Any moisture the tablet is exposed to will make it dissolve rapidly. If you so split Klonopin ODT, be sure to keep the unused half in a moisture resistant container and take it for your next dose."

I have 60 .125 mg ODTs I hope to use when I get down that low (I’m currently still at .37 so I’ll be cutting my hard 0.5 mg tablets for a while still). Glad to hear they cut easily.
