Went to see a neurologist today, told him that i was dealing with an auto-imune deceases attacking my nerves and causing me neuropathy, attacking my spinal cord, that i needed him to screen for proper markers of this kind of auto-imune disorder, and If he could give me an script for nimodipine  in low doses, since my neuropathy Is caused by benzodiazepines discontinuation and the pathological adaptations that this drug cause with long term use, something that nimodipine seems to improove in the long term, got none of the tests asked, nothing,

didnt got an script for nimodipine, because studies on rats doesnt translate to humans

But got an script for risperidone,

As soon as i saw the script i disrespected him, said you know what? You're  a danger as a doctor,  prescribing me a drug known to be poison, and that i should give him a good beating for that, that he was a midget and that would be easy for me, hopefully i dont see myself enrolled in law due to that, fuck this guy.

Gave him a bad Review," If you want a doctor to help you to diagnose and neurological issue, specially auto-imune, that's not the doctor you want to see, i mentioned im dealing with something inflamatóry and auto-imune attacking my nerves, and what i got was a prescription for a neuroleptic antipsychotic known to lobotomize their víctims, none of the markers needed to Discover an inflamatóry auto-imune deceases was asked, that's what you will get with this doctor "

I will make my way to get the stuff

Just venting, Its fucked  how It goes with the medical field, neurologist my ass, this guys are fucking trash as doctors, we really need AI to take this guys place.

Risperidone? Really??? My psychiatrist tried this out on me years ago.  Said that it would help my anxiety and OCD impulse control.  It did absolutely nothing for me psychology.  It did give me a problem with male breast soreness and enlargement.  Ha!? I stopped taking the stuff after a couple months or so and never looked back.  I did have a better experience at the neurologist's, but not much.  I asked my primary care provider for blood tests for auto immune disease and he carried through with that.  I didn't have it, but it put my mind to rest for awhile.  The cost was astronomical, but my insurance covered almost all of it.  The "gold standard" for neuropathy is Gabapentin.  I tried it for awhile.  It worked great on the neuropathy, but I couldn't tolerate the side effects.

I’m thinking that often there’s so much trial & error & a sort of spin the bottle to see where it lands in terms of medication to try. Haven’t ever seen a neurologist but some other physicians that were clueless. I was once given of list of things we might try! That included risperidone. I didn’t want it, have a diagnosis that fitted with it or need it!

@[Ka...] I took gabapentin for a number of years for neuropathy (foot and leg . . . botched back surgery) and it treated the condition well. Eventually I did  get s/x (dizziness, headaches) and I tapered it down, then dropped it. But for most of the years I took it, I had no s/x. It was a godsend. My neuropathy is quite a lot better now so I don't need the drug. Maybe a possibility?

Hi @[De...]

I get that you are ill and feel desperate, but I cannot help but feel that you took a poor approach with the neurologist. If you do not feel that you can get across your problems and concerns in a calm manner, I suggest that you take with you someone you trust to act as your advocate.

The neurologist is not going to prescribe you with an experimental drug (it works in rats) simply because you ask for (or demand) it.

Can you set up an appointment with another neurologist? Is there someone suitable who might go with you?

Why do you suppose that you are suffering from an autoimmune disorder? Which disorder? Some of these disorders can be tested for by your GP. Or, perhaps, another specialist (depending upon what you and your GP suspect might be the cause of your problems).

I suggest that you devise a plan of action before seeing a specialist; this is more likely to get you the desired results. Obviously, chewing out your neurologist (and acting aggressively towards him?) is likely not going to get you where you feel you need to be.

The neurologist is there to help. But he is human. He might make mistakes and might miss things if they are presented poorly (or if you just get his back up). This does not excuse any unwarranted dismissiveness, but doctors are humans and your main objective should be to get yourself where you need to be (even if this means biting your tongue and not speaking your mind).

If my post does not read like it, I assure you, I am only trying to help you here. Learn from your interaction with the doctor and move forward.

@[Co...] its done, its experimental in a way, there are articles of this drug being used in conjuntion with lithium for bipolar disorder, the reason for me to asking for this drug is the effects It hás onto the spinal cord and peripheral nerves, immune system aswell, https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/0278584696000061 here about It

Here about peripheral nerves regeneration in humans

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1010518211001764

What pisssed me, is that he couldnt prescribe me this substance that i  asked,  that could possibly help with the issue that i went there to seek help for , but he could prescribe me a substance that hás nothing to do with the reason that i went there, i was calm and assertive the whole time úntil seeing the prescrition, now its past, nothing happened.

The auto-imune disorder is something that each time more people affected due to benzodiazepines and pssd are testing positive, antineuronal antibodies mediated neuropathies, Im also dealing with thyroid cancer as you know and sadly waiting to long to sheudle for surgery, but cant Go faster tho, im doing tests and images for the surgery

Here are the occurances that might happen due to thyroid cancer https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10118322/

https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/369652 thyroid carcinoma and spinal cord compression

But Its "rare" reason to be gaslitged and dismissed of the necessity of a proper tests.

This antibodies involved in neuropathies caused by psychiatric drugs and that people have been testing positive correlate with the antibodies involved in parenoplasic syndromes, i have been asking for an indication for this kind of pannel since the beggining, that would lead to this ongoing issue to bê diagnosed much sooner , and would prompt me for immunotherapy after surgery, but we the medical field is dismissive and gaslit happens not Just due to benzodiazepines and psychiatric drugs injuries but also cancer and other deceases, we really need AI to run down this ongoing malpractices and medical gaslit, its a need already.
