Numbness IN vagina

[Bo...]

Recommended Posts

I've posted here before about this, but just continuing to see if anybody else experienced what I am. I have numbness IN my vagina, I can not feel sex at all. No sexual sensation/pleasure what so ever. I still have feeling in my clit but it's not as sensitive. I got off benzos in February this year, it's Dec so I'm about 10 months off. This no sensation started in Sept and is still on going. I went to my specialist and she said I have tight pelvic floor, and to do therapy ect. But at the same time I'm really wondering if this is from benzos. It's just odd to me that it would start at 7 months off and not go away. I had no issues before then sexually. Im terrified my feeling won't come back..I just turned 30 and obviously I want to be able to have sex. I'm with someone and afraid eventually it will cause more problems than it already has in my relationship.  He's supportive but there's no telling what can happen in the long run. I'm stressed I'm sad I'm scared. It's like my gspot never existed in the first place. It all feels dead. If this is from benzos, could this be permanent? What do I even do? I've had an MRI on my lumbar spine to check nerves, saw my ob, saw my eurogyn dr, urine, blood, so many xrays, many many cts through out this whole hell.

Hi @[Bo...]

Could you provide some history of your Benzo use, how long, what benzo type, how much was your dosage? I know you said 10 months off, but it can help us in helping you if we can.  I've not experienced your type of numbness, but the whole left-side of my body went numb for 3 days, and I know others will chime in with their experiences with it.

So did you do a taper, or a Cold Turkey, just might help is all I'm saying, to know that.  See if someone can relate,

Welcome to the forum, or back to the forum, and let's see if you get more input that would be more helpful than mine since I have jumped off my taper yet ;) Oregonlady sending hope and encouragement :hug:One thing to add and that is I've already healed to an extent, so I know that we can and do heal.  So if I had to guess, this thing that's happening to you will pass.  I've had plenty of weird symptoms, weird to me anyway, that are gone now, and had some new ones added in, but I have hope with each new challenge in my journey to freedom from Benzos ;)

@[Bo...], (un)fortunately I can’t help you directly with this specific symptom, but every kind of numbness, weird sensations, pains, tingling is reported from many other users in every area.

I used the search tool for the forum and “groin numb” was the second result from a female user months after. “Numbness” and more specifically terms can help you with this.

@[Bo...]  Just checking … have you taken or are you currently taking a SSRI antidepressant or any other drug(s) known to have sexual side effects? To learn more about PSSD:

Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction

Thanks @[Li...]

I was just about to ask this. I am not female, however. I am a male. Back in the mid-90s IIRC, I was put on Zoloft. I tolerated the medication ok. The only bad side effect was genital numbness. I had a GF during this time. I recall telling her about this one night after an intimate encounter. The zoloft made me feel no pleasure while having sex and during climax altho it did not prevent erections...very weird but common side effect of these medications I am told. After I stopped the zoloft, the sexual side effects went away thankfully. 🙏

Benzos OTOH never caused me any sexual side effects that I could discern, even during tolerance w/d.

I hope it goes away. It's so weird. My drsaid she doesn't think I have any kind of prolapse:(

I used for years on and off..had to taper. Still used after taper then abused again then this time had to taper and it was hell. First time was nothing. I drank for years too. I was on xan and sometimes kpin or val but it was mostly xan I could get my hands on. This time I was put on lib and tapered from that for 7 months. I had become dependant on 1 mg of xan so 10 mg lib. 2 other lady's have messaged me saying they experienced inner vaginal numbness but there's happened when they got lower on the dose or like at 1 month off :/

Thanks so much for sharing, I think a lot of us struggled for years trying to figure things out for ourselves. You're in a good place imo, being here with us on BB.  Lots of encouragement, peer support, and help from those that have gone before us and are either into a steady taper, or completely off the benzos.

One thing I know, just 8 months into taper myself, is that there are lots of weird symptoms and I believe it is all because of, at first, Tolerance Withdrawal, before I got to BB, and then more wd sxs as I rid myself of the benzo, and my body takes over in healing itself, so glad you are here, stick with us, you can do this, oregonlady

That genital numbness can happen with benzo's, though it's more common with SSRI's. Some have reported that here. Others had the opposite problem, they were constantly stimulated. From what I have read here and elsewhere, things eventually return to normal. I had diminished sensation as I got lower during the taper process. I'm now 8 months post-jump, and things are getting better down there. My big problem during tapering was bouts of vaginal dryness, for which I used a vaginal cream. I just know I have more sensitivity that I had during acute, when it was none. I don't recall anybody saying genital numbness is permanent though.

@[Bo...] I can't believe the damage I have at 2 months off.  I have a constant nerve type buzzing sensation inside mine 🥺

@[Be...] How are you feeling now 8 months off? ❤️

At about 90% recovered. Some lingering issues; face burning, benzo belly bloat, sleep issues, other stuff that come and go. I expect to recover fully within the next couple months. It's just these last annoying issues dragging on, and on, and on.

I am so depressed I just want to know what is going on. My Dr did a nerve test outside my body she was excellent but I feel like this is something else but what other test can be done :( I had an mri of my lower spine. My hormones are on the low side, but not below the normal range. My vit I low also..could this be contributing? I'm scared.
