Nitroglycerin/long acting nitrates.

Can anyone with extensive knowledge help me unpack this?

 

I have a cardiac condition. I take nitroglycerin and/or long acting nitrates. I was on 0.5mg A for 8 years. I took it every other night. I would take it and my chest pain would be better the next day. I had zero mental inter dose withdrawals. Then the next day I wouldn’t take any- I’d sleep fine but the day after that I’d have more chest pain- sometimes. Sometimes I wouldn’t. Sometimes I didn’t need the ati every other night but I was terrified to stretch it out longer due to possible rebound cardiac symptoms.

 

So. I tried to mess with my nitroglycerin tablet by changing times and then skipping a day or so due to blood pressure issues and then all of a sudden this started. The mental basket case, the insomnia, etc.

 

Now all of a sudden, I have horrible mental withdrawals BUT when I take my A it knocks me out. *Hasnt done this in YEARS. What the heck is happening?!

 

Any idea why this would happen?
