[ne...]
2 years ago I started my reduction of medications. I was on 5 or more psychoactive drugs for 7 years and a psychiatric patient for now almost 20 years. I was hopeless and suicidal. 1 year into this hellish process I started to laugh again. My sense of humor came back as well as my hope for better days. Benzos were the second hardest med to stop. I stopped cold turkey after I stepped down to .5 mg a day. I only had the support of my fiancée and this forum. That was 2 years ago. I am currently on one medication. During that period, I had two hospitalizations and almost died. It is an extremely hard process that is completely debilitating at times. But to get past it you have to get through it. I wish everyone on here the strength to persevere.
