Osteo/Siatica - What to watch out for?

Diclofinac did not help the pain down my leg, so my GP wanted me to come in first thing this morning. He then sent me directly to the hospital for x-rays.

Doc called this evening, and he confirmed I have osteoarthritis of the spine and likely sciatica (which my sis had mentioned). This is not the "better in two weeks" sciatica, since it's six months non-stop already.

Now I need to know if and which meds I need to watch on a Xanax taper.

I already gave thumbs down to prednisone. I already know it makes me hyperactive and up walking circles all night. I list it as an allergy.

He called in another prescription, and I'll have to get it to see what it is, and he mentioned a shot. I have to get a MRI, but I don't think that requires any meds.

I'm feeling a bit down. There's no one in my family I'd tell about this. So, I'm just sitting here thinking.
