    Hymn for the soul

 

I walk down the valley of darkness again

The path is the pain that surely must end

It leads to the water and sky up above

Where the birds of emotion show nothing but love

 

I sit at the ocean the waves crashing in

My heart is so heavy, water’s drawing me in

Life is a struggle, strong is the tide

I need the Great Spirit now here by my side

 

I walk up the valley the path is so steep

I pray that my spirit and body will keep

I slowly emerge transcended in light

All the angles are singing for our strength and our might

That is lovely. Very heartfelt, starts dark but the tide's change to hope. There's always hope, even if it's the tiniest thread, even if we sometimes can't see it.

Is there a melody that goes with it?

 

(I'm finding this week, that I'm compelled to play my piano again ... I've been getting a lot of headaches lately, but when they're not there, I'm finding a lovely sense of solace just being surrounded by the music -- especially when the birds are singing outside too...)

I couldn't tolerate music at first as I was very sensitive to noise, but now I can't get enough. Been listening to music non-stop. It's been really helpful with my anxiety. Music definitely soothes the soul.
