[Yo...]

According to Wiki, allegedly refers to a failed romance with a girl "of Montreal". I guess he didn't move on!

Yes, he is from Athens, Georgia. I can think of one great band that came from that area  ;). Heartbroken introverts do tend to write good songs, though :)

Was he heartbroken? I thought he said he wanted her but didn't. Perhaps what happens when an introvert falls for the first "cute girl" that gives him the time of day!

Ambivalence, basically. I always liked that song Mixed Emotions by the Stones.

I think Lou Barlow from Sebadoh made a perfect song. And then you end up going to "Harmacy" to cure your ills. Great album. :)

"You're happy you're in love, you need someone to hate" = ambivalence  :D

These guys put on a great show. Memories of 1997...

Had no idea they had a song titled "Eddie Vedder".

Honestly, the only song I'd ever heard by them before was this one, and I remember liking it quite a bit:

Yeah that got a lot of radio play. I remember hearing it on Howard Stern's show and Howard wondering what "copacetic" meant. lol

You remind me of the Velocity Girl and their whole album, which was named "Copacetic"

Audrey's eyes was my favorite song off of the whole bunch. Sarah Shannon was so cute back then

She reappeared many years later as a solo artist, singing jazzy tunes,

and I kept wondering if this was the same Indie darling Sara Shannon. Her singing voice did get a lot more confident later on, but I like "everything and the kitchen sing" musical style of the early Velocity Girl stuff. Their first song was gold....

Ah, the 90's, when depression wasn't such a taboo

Yes. One of their best.

I think this is a Doug Hopkins song, and it's hard to listen to, but may as well just put it on here:
