About tapering methods... First time I did dry cuts, from 1mg to 0.5, which was too much for me cuz I got insomnia and had to quickly reinstate. Then I discovered micro tapering by titration and it seemed like the smoothest way to go... especially if you're really sensitive. I didn't want to chance it, so I went real slow, starting with 200ml and reducing 1ml/day (maybe I've explained this before). Anyway, I was effect-free until reached the 30ml mark. The rest is in my signature. Wish to hell I hadn't reinstated! Just prolonged things. I'm doing it the same way next time. I believe it's the best way if you're starting from a lower dose. Those on high doses may wish to dry cut then micro taper when it gets down to the dreaded last few mgs.

Yes, I'm definitely Canadian Eh, YSMANL, but I don't know that song. I'll check it out, though. I can also suggest Blue Rodeo's "Lost Together". "If we're lost, then we are lost together...."

Definitely like me some Blue Rodeo! "Our love shines like a diamond mine", or my personal favorite line "I'd like to know where all my confidence went... One day it all disappeared!"

I should mention that I created a "Music For A Dizzy Dame" list that currently has 141 tunes on it.  It features "I'm So Dizzy" and "Slip Slidin' Away" and "Free Fallin'" and so many other great classic dizzy titles. Endless hours of fun!

P.S. It's not just for dizzy dames. Dizzy dudes can enjoy it too.  ;D

 on the music compilation!

I can think of "Vertigo" by U2, 'Shake, Rattle and Roll' and "I'm All Shook Up" by Elvis Presley... You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC... "You Go To My Head" (I like the Louis Armstrong version)... And who sang that '80s song "You spin me round like a record player..."?

Any other suggestions, dizzy dames and dudes?  :)

Some nice additions! Thank you! I"m up to 145! I've posted the list before, but it's been awhile since I did so. I started it ages ago and just kept adding to it.

Oh yeah, "Float On" by Modest Mouse. l like the line "and we'll all float on ok". It's perfect cuz it talks about how shit happens but life goes on.

I am being referred to a large hospital 2 hours away (known for having great neurology dept)  my DR does not know that this could be all w/d...since he has never encountered anyone this severe

wanted me to be seen in NYC or Mass. but I am to sick to travel that far

he wants us to look at all things possible ...I have declined so badly in last 6 months...the bobbing is intense and you can see my body swaying...head hurts so bad and feels like migraine in a way

I literally can not walk straight anymore....and sleep is almost nil. Dr told me NOT to take anything for that till I am evaluated by neurologist

I must not leave any stone unturned...My family is astonished at how bad I have become

whats scary for me is that its all day everyday now...no ups & downs  no pun intended

and if they never find another cause then I will need medical help to get off this last part...no way can I do it alone

I at times v]can not keep eyes open or talk much...feels almost like partial seizures

Lainey, l went to two neurologists, one being a specialist in vestibular pathology. All they could do was take and read MRIs. All clear for me, so I got the lazy 'anxiety' diagnosis. They could've did an ear MRI to look for nerve damage between the ear and the brain. But the vestibular guy said that would be 'over treatment'. That your doc's never seen a case of withdrawal like yours doesn't mean much, but I get your need to leave no stone unturned. I wish you the best of luck!

Laineyk, it sounds like it will be good for you to get everything checked out. Do you have any sense of when that neurologist appointment might be? In the meantime, take it easy, if you can.

It's wacky, but the title is perfect for my list, so thank you! I also have "Music For A Gal Solidly On Her Feet", but of course, it's a much shorter list at this point. I don't remember being solidly on my feet, so the "Dizzy Dame" list is much longer. The "Solid" list will be a treat to work on -- if and when the time comes. ("Like A Rock", by Bob Seger, is a fave!)

Hmm that's a tougher list to built, somehow appropriately!

Wasn't Rocksteady a song by No Doubt, or just the name of an album...

Safer than the shower, I'm sure. Bring a rubber ducky too so that you guys can chat about what it feels like to be floating around.  ;D

Thanks for all of the great posts, Everyone. I'm a crying mess today, so I can't really add much right now. In pain, exhausted, scared. I've got a 7, so I should be happier, but I'm paying for a bunch of really dizzy days in a row, plus some other things that are affecting me a lot but which are beyond my control. There's a lot of that, it seems.

I am so sorry Lapis.I pray you get some relief.I know words can't help much in this battle, but I am sending you good wishes and hugs today friend.  :smitten: :smitten:

Thanks, 2200. Much appreciated, as is your "What in tarnation?" pic. I keep thinking of Yosemite Sam. :)

Your so welcome Lapis! We need you around this rocky boat to help keep us from sinking our dinghys!I hope I spelled that right??

I love the way the Beverly Hillbillies talk! What in" tarnation'' is happening to us!

You probably won't believe this, but years ago I had a yorkie named Yosemite Sam!I called him Sammy for short. He was registered,so he needed a fancy name! :)

Yay for little Yosemite Sam the Yorkie! I'm sure he was a happy guy -- great parents, lots of wild animals to play with, etc.

And I just checked....It's "dinghies"! So I think I made a mistake on that one the other day. We should at least get our boating terminology right. It's our specialty!

lainyk,  Sorry you're suffering so much.  How old are you?  Are you younger or post menopause?  I hope the docs will run an ANA, anti-nuclear antibody, screening test.  Some people on this forum tested positive for high levels of autoantibodies.  Autoantibodies were attacking the brain and nervous system of one bb on here and she was diagnosed with Limbic Encephalitis and Inflammation.  I hope if you get an MRI it will be functional to show the activity in the brain.  The still ones don't seem to show any problems, from what I've learned.  Hope you feel better soon and get off the pills safely.

Anyone feeling dizzy or whose cognition and/or reflexes are impaired in the slightest shouldn't get behind the wheel of a car. Take a bus or taxi or walk if you're able! Be safe.

This has been a Benzo Buddies PSA.

Hi fellow travelers.

I've been visiting the BB site for months but this is my 1st time posting. The noise in my head gets so loud that the roar from my hairdryer does not drown it out. Other days I can actually ignore it. Sometimes on my dizzy days, which usually are accompanied by the hissing in my head, I feel like I'm on a small boat in the ocean and can feel the rolling of the waves and feel my stomach go out from under me as though my small boat got dropped from a wave. I don't try to drive on those days.

I'm 8 months out from c/t off Zoloft and Valium. Definitely better than the first few months but still no where near healed. I will never know if my experience would have been less of a hellish nightmare if I would have tapered. I expected a few bad days but had no clue that the drugs had done so much damage and I that would loose a large piece of my life. This board gives me hope but I'm not convinced that I will ever fully recover. I suspect that genetic sensitivity plays a roll in the degree of damage and symptoms I have experienced. My best to all of you. Your stories have literally saved my life.
