2015 Study: "Endozepines" -- "The quest for 'The brain's Valium' "

It has to do with the idea that there might be substances within us that have benzodiazepine-like effects in the brain. If you're familiar with the term "endorphins", that mean "endogenous morphine", which are your body's own painkillers. So, "endozepines" are "endogenous benzodiazepines".

As I said, it's a new term for me too, so I'm curious to see what else might be learned on the topic. In the meantime, though, I think we all have ways of relaxing ourselves, like meditation or deep breathing or exercise. I think I'll focus on those things for now!

Thanks Lapis, I am aware of endorphins,,I feel like other countries are so ahead of us when it comes to benzo research.  It's such a big problem.
