When you understand the mind that you are alone in the world,

And loneliness the road is so long,

The to live easily and thinking about death,

Like the last drop of bitter wine.

Here's my glass, not another SIP in it

The life, that as honey was sweet.

There is only the bitterness of undiluted sadness in it,

Left to the old man.

My glass is full, but I will not make friends

I more to buy my drink.

I love them, God bless them.

Let them drink water from the tap.

I have done many glorious things in the world,

People will never forget them.

And if everything comes out as I wanted,

Then, dear God, the world will be beautiful.

Sending suffering on my head,

Sending despair to my truthful soul,

Send me faith, I'll sing about it,

And give me strength, I will be happy.

I'll pray to God before I die.

Des'ree - You Gotta Be

Oh, wow, amazingly that one hasn't made it here already ... good one, Cuz!:smitten:

Thanks!  ;)

Florence + The Machine - Shake It Out

Regrets collect like old friends

Here to relive your darkest moments

I can see no way, I can see no way

And all of the ghouls come out to play

And every demon wants his pound of flesh

But I like to keep some things to myself

I like to keep my issues strong

It's always darkest before the dawn

And I've been a fool and I've been blind

I can never leave the past behind

I can see no way, I can see no way

I'm always dragging that horse around

Our love is pastured such a mournful sound

Tonight I'm gonna bury that horse in the ground

So I like to keep my issues strong

But it's always darkest before the dawn

Shake it out, shake it out

Shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa

Shake it out, shake it out

Shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa

And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back

So shake him off, oh whoa

'Cause I am done with my graceless heart

So tonight I'm gonna cut it out and then restart

'Cause I like to keep my issues strong

It's always darkest before the dawn

Shake it out, shake it out

Shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa

Shake it out, shake it out

Shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa

And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back

So shake him off, oh whoa

The Band - The Weight

I pulled into Nazareth, I was feelin' about half past dead;

I just need some place where I can lay my head

"Hey, mister, can you tell me where a man might find a bed?"

He just grinned and shook my hand, and "No!", was all he said.

Take a load off Annie, take a load for free;

Take a load off Annie, And (and) (and) you can put the load right on me

I picked up my bag, I went lookin' for a place to hide;

When I saw Carmen and the Devil walkin' side by side

I said, "Hey, Carmen, come on, let's go downtown."

She said, "I gotta go, but m'friend can stick around."

Take a load off Annie, take a load for free;

Take a load off Annie, And (and) (and) you can put the load right on me

Go down, Miss Moses, there's nothin' you can say

It's just ol' Luke, and Luke's waitin' on the Judgement Day.

"Well, Luke, my friend, what about young Anna Lee?"

He said, "Do me a favor, son, woncha stay an' keep Anna Lee company?"

Take a load off Annie, take a load for free;

Take a load off Annie, And (and) (and) you can put the load right on me

Thanks Cuz..My morning right brain exercise is singing along to one of your guy's songs!  The Band..This works!

I'm not sure it gets much better than this, musically speaking! Check it out...

"The Weight," featuring Robbie Robertson, Ringo Starr and a whole whack of musicians around the world -- Part of the "Playing For Change" series.

So, so, so good!

DoveLuv,  You're welcome.  :)

Lapis, My apologies.  :-[  I always conduct thread searches before ever making any posts; it didn't come up.  ???  IT glitches.  :-\  'I'm horrified this occurred, as I do take steps to be so careful w/that; but glad DoveLuv happened upon it & enjoyed.  Anyhow, I never wish to step on anyone's toes; again, sorry.  (Well, at least they're 2 different versions.  ;) )  Heh, heh...great minds think alike.  :D

Not to worry, CuzKK! It's a phenomenal song, and it's great to have an excuse to listen to it again. Now that I've heard this new version from Playing For Change, I'm pretty stuck on it. But the other AMAZING version is the one from "The Last Waltz" with the Staple Singers. Mavis Staples rocks it like no one else can!

This song's been posted before, but a different cover of it.  It's Kate Bush song.

Lyrics, yes, do speak volumes, but this live performance is truly spellbinding~Pure Beauty & Serenity:

First Aid Kit - Running Up That Hill

:)  :)

It doesn't hurt me

Do you want to feel how it feels?

Do you want to know, know that it doesn't hurt me?

Do you want to hear about the deal that I'm making?

You, it's you and me

And if I only could

I'd make a deal with God

And I'd get him to swap our places

Be running up that road

Be running up that hill

Be running up that building

See if I only could, oh

You don't want to hurt me

But see how deep the bullet lies

Unaware I'm tearing you asunder

Ooh, there is thunder in our hearts

Is there so much hate for the ones we love?

Tell me, we both matter, don't we?

You, it's you and me

It's you and me, won't be unhappy

Oh, wow. Another really nice KB cover. Thank you!!  :yippee:

A while back, I ran into this cover of "Running up that hill". It shouldn't really work in such a minimalistic setting, but it does :)

Slowdive - Slomo

You give me your love it's a curious love

You give me your heart it's a curious thing

Our lady of the shipwreck is running through the storm

With her skirts blown back

Hands to the fore

My love and I go it's a curious woe now

Like dreamers at dawn awake but not yet

You gimme your heart it's a curious thing now

Gimme your love it's a curious love yeah

It burns and it slides

It's a curious ride

Gimme your heart, yeah

Gimme your heart

My love and I go, it's a curious woe

We're younger than clouds

Younger than clouds

It burns and it slides

It's a curious ride

Give me your heart, yeah

Give me your heart

You give me your love it's a curious love

You give me your heart it's a curious thing

Our lady of the shipwreck is running through the storm

With her skirts blown back

Hands to the fore

My love and I go it's a curious woe now

Like dreamers at dawn awake but not yet

You gimme your heart it's a curious thing now

Gimme your love it's a curious love yeah

"Raining Again" - Staind

https://youtu.be/r-PWAEyYNeo

A piece of glass

In the sand under your feet

It cuts you deep and makes you hate

The beauty that you see

And you wonder where you are

How you ever got so far

Now you question what went wrong

It's your heart

[CHORUS:]

It's raining again

There's a dark cloud over your head

It follows you round

It's bringing you down

It's raining, it's raining again

A wilted rose

Your decay is all you see

You buy the flaws and miss the beauty

That is yours for free

Realize you are so far

From the things that matter now

And you only wonder how

It's your heart

[CHORUS]

Come on, come on

Get it right

Come on, come on

Make it right

Come on, come on

It's alright

It's raining again

There's a dark cloud over your head

It follows you round

It's bringing you down

It's raining, it's raining again

It's raining, raining again

There's a dark cloud over your head

"Doubt" - Radical Face

Staring into the sun

Always looking for an answer

When I know there isn't one

I get get get what I can

Cause now I know

That those heartfelt words

Were all empty vessels

[CHORUS:]

I don't know if this all will end

I don't know who to call my friends

I don't know how to choose my sins

I don't know how much more I can bend

I don't know if these plans will take

I don't know if it's all just a waste

I don't know if our hearts will break

I just know that we're here

And that's enough for today

Drifting through another day

Can't connect to what's around me

Laugh or cry, it's all the same

I gotta sleep when I can

But I have learned

That nothing lasts

Not even problems

I don't know if this all will end

I don't know who to call my friends

I don't know how to choose my sins

I don't know how much more I can bend

I don't know if these plans will take

I don't know if it's all just a waste

I don't know if our hearts will break

I just know that we're here

And that's enough for today

"Albatross"

Alela Diane

Riding the blue

Out the window patchwork quilt

How we built, how we moved

From place to place

White lights of the city

And the echo of lingering eyes

Traveling alone

Suitcase of stone

[CHORUS:]

I'd rather be an albatross

Flying high

Than in the tailwinds

Looking back at what I left behind

Ooh, looking back at what I left behind

Ooh, looking back at what I left behind

Don't ask me

About the places I've been

I know a face but can't remember a name

I can't remember a name

I can't remember your name

On the highway all the day long

My destination is a windowless room

Another windowless room

Another windowless room

I'd rather be an albatross

Flying high

Than in the tailwinds

Looking back at what I left behind

Ooh, looking back at what I left behind

Ooh, looking back at what I left behind

Ooh, looking back at what I left behind

"Free" - Jann Arden

It’s like I faded

Just like the curtains in the sun

Just like the clouds I’ve fallen from

I let you change me

Down to the color of my hair

Till I can’t find me anywhere

[CHORUS:]

So I’m punching out walls and tearing down paper

Cutting my bangs, yeah, sooner than later

I’m selling my soul right back to Jesus

Taking up hope and giving up weakness

Untangling the strings

I’m free, yeah

I’m free, yeah

I’m feeling better

Now that your stuff’s out in the yard

I should send God a Thank You card

Cause he’ll forgive me

Even if you never do

I never did look good in blue

So I’m punching out walls and tearing down paper

Cutting my bangs, yeah, sooner than later

I’m selling my soul right back to Jesus

Taking up hope and giving up weakness

Untangling the strings

I’m free, yeah

I’m free, yeah

I’m feeling better

Now that your stuff’s out in the yard

"See Me, Feel Me / Listening to You"

The Who

Original Soundtrack                               Re-Released Version

https://youtu.be/VpGHXPoJXk8

See Me

Feel Me

Touch Me

Heal Me

(x3)

Listening to you I get the music

Gazing at you I get the heat

Following you I climb the mountain

I get excitement at your feet

Right behind you I see the millions

On you I see the glory

From you I get opinions

From you I get the story

Instead of heat - green glass,

Smoke instead of fire,

A day is plucked from the calendar grid.

The red sun burns down,

The day burns out with him,

A shadow falls on the burning city.

Change! "our hearts demand it."

Change! "our eyes demand it."

In our laughter and in our tears,

And in the throbbing veins:

"Change!

We are waiting for change!"

Electric light continues our day,

And the matchbox is empty,

But in the kitchen the gas burns like a blue flower.

Cigarettes in the hands of, tea on the table - this scheme is simple,

And there is nothing more, everything is in us.

Change! "our hearts demand it."

Change! "our eyes demand it."

In our laughter and in our tears,

And in the throbbing veins:

"Change!

We are waiting for change!"

We cannot boast of the wisdom of the eyes

And skillful hand gestures,

We don't need all this to understand each other.

Cigarettes in the hands of, tea on the table - so closes circle,

And suddenly we are afraid to change something.

Change! "our hearts demand it."

Change! "our eyes demand it."

In our laughter and in our tears,

And in the throbbing veins:

"Change!

We are waiting for change!"

Change! "our hearts demand it."

Change! "our eyes demand it."

In our laughter and in our tears,

And in the throbbing veins:

"Change!

We are waiting for change!"
