Does weight loss happen and loss of appetite and even if you eat your weight stays the same ?

I think weight loss or gain is mostly down to changes in diet and maybe metabolism to a smaller degree. But I have a feeling some or many here will disagree with me.

I lost about 25lbs during my withdrawal because of lack of appetite.  Your GI tract has the 2nd highest concentration of GABA receptors next to your brain.  These get down-regulated, damaged or destroyed too.  I had a lot of GI issues during withdrawal that resolved on their own as I healed.  Good luck.

Yes my stomach hurts and if I eat it feels tight and closing in and I only was on Benzo for 3 months 0.5 mg sometimes I took 1mg since I just stopped 6 days went so horribly wrong I kept getting stomach cramps and weird turning and noises and constipated and soon as I wake up I would feel sick and in pain in my shoulders and stuff and mood is off no appetite force myself to eat but my weight doesn’t change or goes down if anything I and the insomnia was crazy don’t know what’s going on and diarrhoea a lot and now I went doctors they have given me mitazapine 7.5 mg and told me take the Benzo 0.5mg and refered me to a physiatrist I’m not gonna go but since I have taken the mitazapine and 0.5mg for last 3 days I am sleeping better but my toilet and stomach are messed up still and o forgot my mouth is dry and my tongue is white

If you stomach is messed up it might be the reason why your tougn is white? It's a system..

3 months is long enough to give you wd problems. And sometimes they are many.. mabey talk to your doctor and plan a taper?

Hi thanks for replying again yes I suddenly stopped and this has all happened my doctor I went to him on the 7th day after stopping Benzo and showed him he said this medicine is normal and thousands of people take it and he said so what if your tongue is white what does it matter then he prescribed me to take 0.5mg again of Benzo a night and he added mirtzapine 7.5mg and now I am taking that it’s been 3 days and I don’t no what to do I don’t want to take more medication but it really has helped me to sleep please can someone tell me how to taper

Hi. Actually I'm much better. But for almoust a year when trying to taper I had so bad Nassau I could hardly eat. When at it's worse I had violent vomit. 

I got anti nassua pills in subscription. They worked a little..

This was my major really hard wd symptom.

I'm not a taper expert but others say 5-10% cuts every to weeks or when you are ready. I know this sounds slow but it's aimed at giving as little unpleasant wd symptoms as possible.

I agree, my.metabolism is very fast always has been.  I've lost weight during tapering and finding it difficult to find foods I can tolerate. Yes I've had to change my diet,  I miss my cookies, Donuts, spaghetti,  sour dough bread, you name it! But it will get better, I'll find something I can eat that's different. Recycles about every month or so. Can't ear this today, tomorrow probably lol

Thanks again for reply but I have some serious stomach aches and toilet constipation and change of stool and colour sometimes and my appetite and nausea are really weird to which never happened before

Light, I'm sorry you are going thru stomach issues.  I am too. It's difficult when we can't eat what we want. I know this all to well. Your symptoms sound like withdrawl. I know it's difficult,  please try to steer your focus away from it, hopefully focusing on something positive maybe can help things improve.  Stomach issues are the worst, I'm starving all the time.i can't eat very many foods right now and can't take antihistamines. We get strange symptoms with these meds and withdrawl, they change from one thing to the next. Hopefully your tummy issues will be gone whenever you get a different symptom. Not fun but at least it's different!

so much you said everything that I wanted to hear I am sorry to hear you are having so much problems and it all sounds so familiar to what I’m going through but as you have giving me good advise and wonderful hope I just want to let you know I have had maybe what’s been called window period for last 4 days I have felt so good and eaten like normal and done exactly what you said I took it out of my mind and focused on positive things like loving again if you know what I mean I been socialising again been round people and taken my mind off all this fear as I was never like that before and now my tongue is 95 percent or more back normal  and normal colour and I been feeling so could I actually haven’t taken any tablets at all for the last 3-4 days and I’m not having much symptoms at all since my withdrawal feelings i hate these tablets so am actually so relieved I’m able to fight to stay away from these tablets I don’t care about the symptoms anymore or fear of withdrawal that’s why I’m replying late I just saw your message as I been out everyday and not had this on my mind anymore I really really pray you get well quickly and recover and come back to your normal healthy life and fun life and happiness you deserve I really appreciate your message and words and advise you have made a lot of difference in my life today and have said all of what I needed to hear as maybe today I am feeling a lot bit w/d symptoms but I don’t care and I won’t be on this platform much as I intend to focus on my happiness and life again once again really pray and wish you a very good healthy fun and happy life and will keep you in my thoughts always your amazing god bless you always take care and stay well and healthy and happy always and to everyone who is and has suffered like us all may god heal and recover everyone very quickly and swiftly

I sure second what @[Th...] says here. I lost 20 +pounds on my taper. Couldn't eat, felt ill. When my taper was over, I regained my weight and had an appetite again. It just takes time . . . and being off your benzo. Best to you.

Wow widesky, you lost a lot of weight! I've lost about 15lbs, I'm little anyway but I'm starving all the time. It's my strict diet I'm sure as I can only have certain foods due to so many allergies.

I find it almost impossible to eat and constant Benzo belly. 19 months ct. In the beginning no appetite but no benzo belly and no pain. Last 6 weeks other symptoms slowly resolving but major benzo belly and pain. Been walking every day for about last 8 months eating less and have actually gained a few pounds?? Thinking I'm holding fluid? I do force my self to eat at least 2 meals a day. I'm still probably less active than I was before. Rarely get to the gym because of low energy. Hopefully heading into the home stretch GI issues are my biggest problem. To answer your question yes it's tough.
