Pain killer for dental work

What drugs are safe for dental work and recovery afterwards?

I just took Tylenol. But if you're in serious pain, I'd take Aleve. Non-NSAIDS aren't very effective for tooth pain, thus the Aleve. I have taken Aleve now and then on my taper (back pain) and it was okay.
