K to V as K gets lower and lower

Hi wonderful buddies,

I need your thoughts as my husband is still in a bind... He's currently holding at .0915 mg x 4 (.366 mg total). He's also taking the brand name valium (with all the troubles he's had, it's so expensive but ANYTHING for any stability).

He's had issues with the clonazepam and at this point he's wondering if it may be worth it to just cross over to valium as his brain is used to both and he's on a low k dose.

The thought is that we would then be dealing with a single benzo that as brand would be more stable and predictable.

On the other hand, k is supposed to bind more tightly to the receptor sites than v. But is he already going through k withdrawal anyway (switch in manufacturers) so the change to v would be less of a big deal?

Please share your thoughts.

I feel its perfectly reasonable to cross his Klonopin dose to Valium, just for simplicity sake and if he tolerates it well, hopefully it won’t be too disruptive.
