Prescribed .5mg clonazepam 3x a day for panic disorder in August 2022 by an inpatient doctor. Was told it was fine to take it every day because they have had patients on it for 30 years. Now I know why they've been on it that long because it is awful to try and come off of it. Now (3/2023) tapered to .125mg 3x a day.

I was ok with the physical withdrawals, but after this last taper, I can't sleep without medication.

We are glad you joined the community.  You may be tapering too fast, slow it down if you need to.  Insomnia is one of the most common symptoms of benzodiazepines. Withdrawal is tough, but its temporary, we do get better.  Its generally suggested to reduce between 5/10% every 10/14 days, you can slow it down, its best to taper at a rate you feel comfortable with. You will learn more about tapering on the taper boards.    You'll find a great community of people here who will support and encourage you. Feel free to check out the forum and to post to any of the dedicated boards, 

 

I suggest you check out the Ashton Manual, you will find It is a valuable resource for learning about benzos and the effect these drugs have on our body.  As well as withdrawal information, it lists  possible withdrawal symptoms symptoms
