Anyone had to taper Ativan due to decreased kidney function?

I've got chronic kidney disease, and my kidney function has decreased about 15% recently. I have to do a very gradual 15% taper of my Ativan (presently 1 mg/day) because it's not being excreted sufficiently by the kidneys.  This has affected my balance and I'm walking a little unsteadily.

 

After only 2 days with a 1% Ativan cut, I'm already having withdrawal symptoms.

Would appreciate hearing from anyone with kidney disease and their experience (good or bad) while tapering.
