Remeron

[Le...]

Recommended Posts

Just went a second night in a row without my 3.75 mg. I have been steady on this dose for 5 years or so.

I had restless leg lately and I think it's the remeron so I wanted to take action.

I am kind of wired and nervous now. I'm not in great shape to take on a challenge. We'll see how it goes. it might involve taking it every few nights or so.

Ive been on remeron for 4 years now and Im tapering, trying to get off. Getting of xanax via valium taper was easier. This is drug is hard to get off of. Im at 5.2mg and will go to 3.75, hold there a wile and then on down slowly. The worst side affect for me was weight gain.

Remeron  also known as mirtazapine, awful drug to get off of.

Don’t listen to doctors when they say you can withdraw quickly,

You have to go as slow as benzo  tapering, so if you’re at a low-dose

You’re lucky, I was at 45 mgs  But now I’m down to 1 mg, never

Thought I would experience some of the same with drawls as

I did with Klonopin  Feeling almost 100% healed, the brain will

Heal,  just takes time. I agree with someone who said exercise and

Eating right, and my take is balancing your gut bacteria.

Psychiatric drugs are meant for very short term,  they stop working

And leave your brain confused. Take only for a short time, and explore

Other ways to heal yourself, we have so much more information now

With the Internet.

Also  I taper to a low dose by taking a 15 mg pill dissolving in water,

Shake, then take 1 mg or whatever milligram your at  With an eyedropper

Has worked great for me and pills dissolve very quickly and water.

I’m at 5.2mg of mirtazapine now. Mornings are the worst. I awaken feeling like a zombie, takes an hour and 3 cups of coffee to get awake and feel somewhat normal. Does this get worse the lower the dose since it is more sedating in the lower dose range ? It makes one entertain the idea of jumping off to get it over with but I know that’s not advisable.

I've been on Mirtazipine for 3 years now. It's not helped my depression but does make me sleep. I've been able to taper off Valium over the past year or so. Mirtazipine I'm sure, has helped with this. I'd like to stop taking Mirtazipine one day, hopefully in the next year.

What are the increments you are using? What dose is your projected jump dose?

For me 1mg every 4 weeks,  I was at 45 mgs  withdrew too fast

went into acute, went back on 15 mg and tapered from there.

This drug sucks, different than benzos but bad.

I know everyone reacts to drugs differently, so maybe it won’t be

so bad for some.  ;)

Not sure but I am 1 mg and will probably jump

Soon. It’s almost 4 weeks at that dose so jump

Here I go 😳

I'm debating taking this. I've been stuck for a while due to life circumstances, but also fear of full-on withdrawal after a nasty taper. I'm fairly hopeless right now and wondering if this could help.

I'm at 3.75 but I can't see me making potions out of this. Maybe I'll compound caps.

I took 2 days off and I could feel it.

Another approach is to take days off and on.

Well I'm kind of scared to put it mildly because I am on Cameron and my new alas Dr is reducing that dose. So day6 or 7 without Vatican it's scary appreciate the quote from Carlos castenada:I will have to look at this as a challenge.I keep putting off doing ANYTHING due to feeling frozen and scared to death of consequenses.must learn to live in the present Braveheart54

Very easy to make into liquid, I know it’s tough when  your healing, the pill

Dissolves very easily in water.  Then with an eyedropper just take out how many milligrams

You need.  I wouldn’t do the one day on one day off, not recommended.

I have not the experience that remeron will dissolve in water. The pharmacy told me it would not go into solution but could be made into a suspension. So I use Oraplus which is a pharmacy suspension. I make it 1mg/ml. Shake it well before drawing each dose with a syringe. I do grind up the pills with mortar and pestle.

On another note I had to have a sleep study last week. They gave me Ambien to make sure I slept because in a previous sleep study I couldn’t sleep. It has set me back. Feeling pretty shitty the past few days. Don’t take Ambien if you don’t have to during your taper

Question for those of you tapering. Did u ever feel sick, have aches an d pains and in general feel very crappy during your taper? Sometimes I think I’m going to die or wish I would

How fast are you tapering, and how much?

I think I can compound pills for about $1 per pill. That's a reasonable price for a daily pill. I just can't deal with measuring. I get compulsive and anxious about it.

Do you have any special knowledge about skipping days as a method?

Surviving Antidepressant forum has good information

and deals exclusively with AD’s

I tried that way and went into acute. I know it’s not the same for everyone

but slowly decreasing doesn’t confuse the brain, it adapts better.

From surviving AD’s website:

Many doctors advocate alternating doses; however, this is not recommended by most AD web forums because it may destabilize your CNS. Keeping your dose steady and then gradually decreasing seems to work best.

I’m cutting 10% every 3-4 weeks as advised. It seems like every time I make a cut it takes 10+ plus days before things start to smooth out. Every time I make a cut those first 10+ days are very uncomfortable. I generally feel like crap!!
