Every person's case is different.  Some ppl. have cog. decline for other reasons, too.  I've been diagnosed with other diseases, as well, which affect brain functioning:  Lupus, hypothyroidism, Thrombophilia.  Also had previous brain damage from illicit drug abuse and alcohol.  I think I've got alot of things working against me.  I had cog problems before the benzo's and using and getting off them made it worse.

Whenever I see this kind of statement associated with a study that concludes that benzodiazepines do NOT contribute to a given condition, I read no further.  The study results, at least for me, become meaningless.  It's like listening to a political candidate.  I know from the outset that the results are tainted and skewed.
