Fluter, this is a song that has stuck in my head from a very young age. My Dad had the 7" version, and he'd sing it in the bath, or in the car.

As I posted, I'm passionate about my soul music, but I also have so many beautiful songs in my head from way back then.

Trouble is, if I'm feeling down, I'll play Honey! and others....and it'll make me worse. Suppose it takes me back to a time when I was innocent of all the crap I'm going through now.

So glad you have memories of it too!

"Spread your tiny wings and fly away

and take the snow back with you where you came from on that day :)

Hey DBoy,

We all have music that is very meaningful to us.  This is what makes it "THE UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE". We can all relate to it.

Ann Murray is a great artist.

I too am very guilty of listening to certain types of music when I'm feeling down.  I think if everyone is honest they could say the same thing.  Nothing wrong with that..."IT HELPS US FEEL" and that can't be a bad thing.

MUSIC STIRS UP MEMORIES...HAPPY / SAD / FUN / LOVE / HEARTBREAK / AND SO MUCH MORE. Keep those songs comin D. I like em.

Here's one for you :)

Anne Murray

"COULD I HAVE THIS DANCE" [shadow=red, left](Do you remember this from Urban Cowboy)[/shadow]

P.S. I HAVE ALBUMS THAT ARE MY PARENT'S BY KENNY ROGERS, BOBBY GOLDSBORO, ROGER MILLER, ENGELBERT HUMPERDINCK, TOM JONES, LYNN ANDERSON, GLEN CAMPBELL, THE STATLER BROTHERS,  AND MANY MORE....THERE AWESOME & I LOVE EM :)

Thanks for all the great contributions, guys, loving 'em!  :-*

Becks, take a look at www.songza.com.  I don't know if you'll be able to stream it without hi speed, but it's a nice alternative to radio.

Esther, I love that Yahweh song by U2, had never heard it before.  Really nice!

Dboy, Honey is a beautiful, sad song, I hadn't heard it in ages, thank you.  Have you heard the Tammy Winette version?

"One Day" - Matisyahu

"Sometimes in my tears I drown

But I never let it get me down

So when negativity surrounds

I know some day it'll all turn around because

"All my life I've been waiting for

I've been praying for

For the people to say

That we don't wanna fight no more

There will be no more wars

And our children will play

One day, one day, one day

One day, one day, one day

"In this maze you can lose your way

It might drive you crazy

But don't let it faze you no way

"One day we'll all be free

And proud to be

Under the same sun

Singing songs of freedom like

One day ..."

Oh, this is just perfect, BC! Just what I needed today, thank you!

"Superheroes" - The Script

"When you've been fighting for it all your life

You've been struggling to make things right

That’s how a superhero learns to fly

Every day, every hour

Turn the pain into power

"All the hurt, all the lies

All the tears that they cry

When the moment is just right

You see fire in their eyes

"She's got lions in her heart

A fire in her soul

He's a got a beast in his belly

That's so hard to control

Cause they've taken too much hits

Taking blow by blow

Now light a match, stand back, watch them explode

"Every day, every hour

Turn the pain into power

Every day, every hour                :boxer:  :boxer:    :boxer:

Turn the pain into power ..."

Insomniac22, that Jason Mraz song is amazing! I know the version by Lennon & Maisy, but I guess this one's the original. Powerful stuff! Thanks for sharing it.

"Life by the Drop" - Stevie Ray Vaughan

:smitten:

Love it, thank you!

"Unstoppable" - Rascal Flatts

"So, so you made a lot of mistakes

Walked down the road a little sideways

Cracked a brick when you hit the wall

Yeah, so you didn't do the best

It pulled you down faster than a sunset

Hey it happens to us all

When the cold hard rain just won't quit

And you can't see your way out of it

"You, you can weather any storm

Don't you know that you were born to win

Oh you find a helping hand when you need it most

A lighthouse shining on the coast that never goes dim

When your back's against the wall

When you stumble and you fall

"You find your faith has been lost and shaken

Here's your chance and it's worth taking

Get on your knees and dig down deep

You can do what you think is impossible

Keep on believing, don't give in

You've got the strength to raise the wind

Remember what one dream can do

You are unstoppable

"Yes you, you are unstoppable

So you made a lot of mistakes

But you got back out into the game

You, you are unstoppable..."

  :oXo:
