[ca...]
Oh, well the first link works for me still. Anyway, some kind of weird thing. I thank you for bringing it to my attention that you couldn't see it though and taking the time to repost it. Most kind. Hopefully it won't keep happening on my painting posts! [ca...]
I can see it LF. Glad everyone likes the Composition VII. There are more of them by the way. I'm more of a Classicist and Romantic usually when it comes to art, but I like Kandinsky. How can you not?

[re...]
It's so weird. Here's what I'm seeing on my screen: and this: And by the way, that GardenWeb graphic is several times that size, until I click on it. Then it shrinks to this size. The Kandinsky pic doesn't show, and when I right-click on it to try to save it, it's named "comp7640.jpg.gif" when its actual name is "comp7640.jpg". Some sort of blocking is going on, but it seems only to affect me. I do have Adblock installed on my computer - so I never have to deal with those obnoxious YouTube commercials. Maybe this website hates me for my Adblock. I don't want to waste too much space on this. I only mention it because other buddies may have the same problem. It has nothing to do with Kandinsky. [ca...]
I have Ad Block too. I'm wondering if it could be due to your location Redevan? Ok, the GardenWeb source said "glyphs" didn't it? Here's another source, is this all right? Once again, Kandinsky- Composition VII

[ca...]
Wow, how weird! Yes I see it. I'll try one more source just because I'm curious, no worries. I wish someone else would come to this thread and tell us what they are seeing. If someone is reading this thread, please tell us if you can see the paintings that Redevan can't. [lo...]
http://www.frida-kahlo-foundation.org/165443/The-Dream-large.html.jpg Sorry to hear you had a bad day, Cate. Hope you feel a bit better soon. I seem to be good during the night and awful during the day!! This painting, The Dream, by Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, is rather gloomy but pertinent to my current situation except that I am unlikely to die any time soon. sometimes I wish I would (not really). She spent chunks of her life in bed due to childhood polio and a bus crash at age 18. She had over 30 operations, several miscarriages and was in constant pain. It is not surprising that life & death is a theme in her paintings. LF

Redevan, do you get an actual taste when you hear the music or are you ascribing the attributes of the candies to the music (sweet, smooth, etc)? Thank you for the choral piece and the Rach. I knew the Rach, but it's always worth a listen. I like choral pieces and that was new. i once heard a story of Rachmaninoff that he got a talking to by one of his friends because he took pride in composing pieces so difficult no one else could play them. His friend told him if he wanted to be remembered and known through history, he better smarten up and compose with a different intent.
