Depression

So, I am suffering with chronic depression, lack of interest and motivation in life. I feel that I have protracted withdrawal going through a taper. I am still holding at 7/8 of a mg have been for about 4 months. I would say that depression at this point is my worst symptom. I do have anxiety but nothing horrible and some agitation. 

Could anyone tell me if there is a way to know if I am just a depressed person or could this be a symptom of withdrawal?

I have suffered with depression for 40 years on and off but I am wondering if being on these benzos could be why I was depressed?

I just hate to think that I might be stuck in this depression for the rest of my life

IDK, it is hard to tell. According to the FDA, benzos don't cause depression per se but they can worsen it if you already have it and cause pre-existing depression to become treatment-resistant.

You say you have suffered with depression for 40 years. Were you depressed before you ever touched a psych med? Have you ever taken SSRIs for depression?

Benzos do suppress the CNS but this depression is not the same as ppl who suffer from Endogenous depression.

Why have you had to hold so long at 7/8 mgs of K?
