Just read this article this morning and was horrified as to the long term side affects of Valium.  I am too tired to go into detail, so if interested have a look.  I read it on Smart News.

The article is quite brief. I know from personal experience with benzodiazepines that my short-term memory has definitely been impaired.

What I find most troublesome is a lack of motivation. Even so, I have been pushing myself to live life to the same degree as my pre-benzo days, and that's not been easy. My physical stamina has been slowing down from aging alone! But trying to keep my brain active has been a priority that I've tried maintaining throughout this benzo journey. The key is to never give up and to see that progress is there, although not easily perceived.
