Out of nowhere recently I have been experiencing vaginal numbess...the inside has no feeling. I do not feel sex or anything. I'm really worried. I told me ob but she said so this just started I said yes, she said it's probably hormones. It's been 1 month and some odd weeks. There is no sensation no feeling nothing. I know it's not low drive or any of that. I was just wondering if anybody else had experienced this. I'm scared it's my lower spine or something is so wrong and it won't come back. I am 8 months and days off

Hello @[Po...]. Welcome to BenzoBuddies.

A visit to the doctor is always sensible when we might suffer from unexplained symptoms. But benzodiazepine withdrawal can (and does) cause numbness in various parts of the body. During my first, very rapid withdrawal from a high dose of clonazepam, I lost all feeling down the whole of the left side of my body. A neurologist instructed me to immediately reinstate a small dose, which I did.

What @[Bo...] appears to be suffering is milder, more localised loss of sensation, and is not unusual during withdrawal (even when following a sensible taper plan). I do not know about @[Bo...]'s background, so my comments here are more general in nature.

Ok when I saw this, I had to reply because I had something similar happen in my “cutie”. Mine would go numb randomly for hours then poof gone for a day. It returned and repeated that for a few months. Sometimes only one side numb ( including inside on that side) and sometimes the entire top part. Weirdest thing! After hanging around, it started getting milder and going away for longer until now it’s been many months since it’s happened.
But as the others said, visit a doctor to ease your mind if that’s what you need. But IMO, it’s not a coincidence that this just started randomly. WD symptoms are known for doing that!
Im 40 months and have a new symptom of red hot ears sudden and random. Hangs around about 20 minutes then poof gone for few days. A lovely 40 months off gift…lol

@[Co...] @[La...] hey guys, I got an xray of my lower back, mild sclerosis and spurring but my dr said this should not cause the numbess...so I don't know. All my hormones are fine also. The numbness for me doesn't come and go unfortunately its there 247. I still have clitoral feeling. So if I was a pinched nerve wouldn't that be gone too? Man I hope this is benzo related because I'm crying about this I can't sleep..I know some people can go without sex but I am young and it's the fact I should not be dealing with this. Will be going to see a specialist just in case. If no answers there, then I will leave it at benzo.

My bet is benzo related. But you can go to the doctor to rule everything out and ease your mind that it’s nothing serious. Then you’ll know for sure that it’s one of those weird benzo symptoms that will return to normal with a little time.

@[Co...] so I did get more blood work done and my hormones are all low which i know is contributing to the low sex drive and probably the vaginal numbness...did I get thrown into early menopause or is this benzo stuff? I also feel like crap :(
