Time Is The Healer

Where the heck is Time anyway? Probably sitting at the coffee shop munching donuts.

If Time has such an important job to do, why is Time just sitting around and flowing?

Seems to me that my relationship with Time is rather one sided. I wait patiently for Time to contribute to my recovery and Time never shows up.

Time is very good at tick tocking, Time ain’t so good at getting the job I need doing done.

As Alice found out, Time is a rabbit hole.

Why am I sitting on this park bench with my healer Time and nothing is happening?

I need help and Time is snoozing.

---

Is there a point to this little rant? Perhaps.

Time is the healer” has never had much meaning for me.

It has a nice ring to it, but I already have enough ringing in my ears, thank you very much.

If Time isn’t on the job I need doing, who or what is?

I find the answer to this riddle every time I stand in front of a mirror.

My body is on the job. My body is doing the healing.

If my body is doing the healing work, what is my responsibility?

Okay, I have solved the first riddle, what might the solution be to this one?

The second riddle wasn’t so easy.

What can I do to contribute to the work my body is doing? What does my body need from me?

I believe my response to these questions offers the opportunity for a significant contribution to my healing process.

---

For me, the response became Self-Care.

While my body is doing the work of healing, I am supplying the care my body needs to do the work of healing.

This care is always individual and specific. It takes practice to figure out how to do care well.

Self-Care could be the response to the question – what do I do now?
