Advice for anesthesia choice

My journey started in 2019 when I had an outpatient procedure on my throat. I was given Versed to sedate me. The procedure went fine but three days later I awoke to what I now know was withdrawal. Went to E.R. and they gave me Ativan encouraging me to just continue on it.  So began my 2year journey into hell whereupon I found BenzoBuddies and slow tapered off Ativan by switching to Valium. I still experience side effects…. So… now I need a surgery to remove a large uterine fibroid and I am terrified..what anesthesia should I use?  Any advice out there?

I've heard that propofol is a good choice.
